Our Product Research Team
At Crutchfield, you'll get detailed, accurate information that's hard to find elsewhere.
That's because we have our own in-house Product Research team — they open the box,
verify contents, check the owner's manual, and record dimensions, features and specs.
We stay on top of new products and technologies to help people make informed choices.
Features
Hybrid Pulse D/A Converter:
This design places the converter and digital filter on the same IC to reduce
signal leads and minimize interference.
Recording Level: The
recording level can be set for both digital and analog recording. Additionally,
you can change the volume of the recorded tracks using S.F. (Scale Factor) Edit,
which records the original track over at a new recording level.
Smart Space: If the
Smart Space function is on and there is no sound input for 3 seconds or more
(but less than 30 seconds) while recording, the unit replaces this silence with
a blank space of about 3 seconds and continues recording. You can turn this
feature on and off.
Auto Cut: When
the Smart Space function is on and there is no sound input for 30 seconds or
more, the unit replaces this silence with a blank space of about 3 seconds and
enters recording pause.
Time Machine Recording:
The last 6 seconds of data is stored in a buffer so you can start recording 6
seconds before you actually engage the record function.
Undo: This function
will cancel the last edit and restore the data on the MD.
A-B Erase Function: This
function lets you easily specify a portion within a track and erase that
portion.
Music Synchro-Recording:
The Music Synchro-Recording function allows you to synchro-record with any audio
equipment connected to the external inputs.
Recording: Recording
can be done in both stereo and mono. In mono mode recording, time is doubled.
MDLP Recording: In addition to
normal stereo recording, this unit has two long time recording modes; LP2 and
LP4. When recording in LP2 Stereo mode, you can record two times the normal
recording time. When recording in LP4 Stereo mode, you can record four times the
normal recording time.
Sampling Rate Converter:
The sampling rate converter allows you to convert 32kHz and 48kHz to the 44.1
kHz sampling rate of MD, so you can record from DBS with digital out or DAT/DCC.
Serial Copy Management System:
SCMS does not allow you to make a copy of a digital copy. Normally, this will
not be a problem, but note that it will keep you from making a MiniDisc copy of
a CD-R made on a consumer audio CD-R recorder when using the unit's CD player.
Sleep Timer: The sleep timer
switches the system off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer is
fixed at 60 minutes.
