Precision woofers showcase your music
The Dxi460 speakers feature 4"x6" polymer/mica composite cones that are lightweight and stiff, so they can create a big sound with minimal distortion. Polk analyzes their drivers in motion to ensure that cone movement is even and precise. Polk also uses laser imaging to craft woofer cones that are perfectly balanced to resist distortion-causing resonances.

Features

High Efficiency Design: The Polk Audio DXi Series speakers feature a high efficiency design; meaning better sound and more volume using less power.

Dynamic Balance Driver Technology: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Klippel Optimized Components: For a driver to reproduce complex sounds accurately, the cone must move exactly the same distance and manner in both directions. The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, lets Polk optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.

Composite Cones: Each Polk DXi460 speaker features a Dynamic Balance, polymer/mica composite cone woofer. These composite cones feature tremendous stiffness-to mass ratio. Lower mass means faster transients and finer detail.

Rubber Surrounds: For a smoother response and improved durability, the speaker uses rubber surrounds.

Silk Dome Tweeters: Each Polk DXi 460 speaker features a 3/4" silk dome tweeter for clear, accurate highs. The tweeters employ a light-weight neodymium magnet for higher efficiency.

I paired these (in the dash) with Polk DXi525 (in the soundbar). I was pleasantly surprised by the change from my stock speakers - they were 13 years old. They play louder before distorting (I'm sure the new head unit helps with that) and have a better range. They do leave me really wanting to add a sub, but alas, in a 2000 jeep wrangler, with as often as I'm using it with the seat out hauling what little I can, I don't have the space or inclination to to uninstall and reinstall a sub.

Pros:

better than stock

Cons:

not enough bass.

I used these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my 01 wrangler. Sound a lot better than the stock, but not really amazing. Great for a replacement of blown speakers or someone not that into music quality.

The speakers are great but I would suggest having someone else install them if you have an older Chevy c1500 standard cab like I do - the panels are impossible to remove without breaking them . Hey I learned how to plastic weld tho. ,

These speakers replace an older Polk product 462 . My pioneer radio that was Top of the Line in 1996 (DEH-8200) Threw DC voltage on my original Polks and burnt out both voice coil, These new speaker are going to work With the New JVC arsenal I just got from Crutchfield. THE New Polk's are a great speaker for the price!!! I really have not had a chance to tweak the radio and speakers yet, the new POLK' 4X6 should not get anything below 100-200 cycles, I may add a small 2 channel front amp with the high pass filter engaged, cheap way would be to add bass blocker caps.

I had these speakers for about two weeks before one of them blew leaving me with a useless speaker. I am very disappointed in Polk, I will be never buying a Polk Audio brand of anything any longer. I will stick to JL Audio from now on and save my time and money.

Much Better than OEM Speakers

Replaced the OEM dash speakers in my '93 Chevy Suburban. These sound much better than the OEM speakers ever did. The fit is tight, but they do fit in the dash without modifications. connectors will only fit one way in the space avaialbe, but they do fit.Sound is good but my 22W per channel amplifer will overdrive these speakers at high volume settings. Overall they sound very good

Good quality sound, Fit, Nice installation instructions

Cons:

Hey, these are 4x6 speakers, you can't expect them to sound as good as larger speakers at high volume levels
