Overview: The Fujifilm WCL-X100 is a wide angle conversion lens, designed for use with the Finepix X-100 digital camera.

Conversion: The WCL-X100 has a magnification factor of 0.8x, and converts the focal length from 23mm (35mm equivalent) to 19mm (28mm equivalent). The converter simply screws onto the lens of the X-100. The X-100's lens brightness (f-stop value) is not affected by the conversion lens.

Camera Settings: For best results, you should select the "Wide Conversion Lens" option in the X-100's menu system. The camera automatically applies image processing to shots taken with the conversion lens to reduce image distortion and balance illumination across the frame. The camera's firmware should also be updated to version 1.30 or later.

Construction: The WCL-X100 is made of the same materials, textures, and colors as the existing X100. The conversion lens uses four premium glass elements in three groups to minimize chromatic aberrations. It also has the Fujinon Super EBC (Electron Beam Coating).

Functionality: The WCL-X100 maintains the full functionality of the X-100, including the Hybrid Viewfinder. When selecting the camera's optical viewfinder, there are icons to show the edge of the frame (equivalent to 80% frame field of view), instead of the frame rim. If you select the electronic viewfinder, you will see a 100% field of view. Auto focusing speeds and 10cm macro capability are the same with the conversion lens. You can also use the optional LH-X100 lens hood and PRF-49S protective filter with the WCL-X100 in place.
