The dash opening this kit is designed for is a different shape and size than typical aftermarket receivers. The mounting bracket covers the "gaps" and anchors your new receiver in your dash.

The kit also includes:

various brackets depending on exactly what make and model vehicle you are installing your receiver into
side brackets, which you can use if your receiver is designed for the side support system found in some vehicles (ISO-DIN)
rear support bracket
trim ring to make the installation more attractive
60-day warranty

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Since this kit is designed to work on several different vehicles it should have come with better instructions on how to assemble it for your particular vehicle. After a lot of trial and error I finally got it assembled only to find that the dash plate on my 86 F150 would not fit over it. I had to machine about 1/16 to 1/8 in. off both sides of the face plate of the kit in order to get the F150 dash plate to fit over it.I've always had good luck with the kits I've received from Crutchfield but this one was a nightmare.

poor instructions and did not fit my vehicles dash with out modification by me.
