Built-in Bluetooth
Bluetooth Communication: The Jensen MP1524 is equipped
with built-in Bluetooth, providing hands-free communication and audio streaming
for added convenience and safety. Bluetooth is a short-range wireless radio
connectivity technology that is developed as a cable replacement for mobile
phones, and other handheld devices. Bluetooth operates in 2.4 GHz frequency
range and transmits voice and data at speeds up to 1 megabit-per-second.
Pairing: Before using the unit's Bluetooth functions, you
must pair your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or audio device to the MP1524.
Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some mobile devices may be
incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used
with the MP1524.
Hands Free Profile (HFP): The Jensen MP1524 allows for
wireless communication between the head unit and your Bluetooth enabled
cell-phone. You can answer an incoming call from the head unit's front-panel
controls.
Incoming phone call information will be displayed on the MP1524's LCD. Your car audio speakers will mute automatically during a
call.
External Microphone: The MP1524 includes an external
microphone to speak into during your phone conversation, while the other party
is heard through your vehicle's speakers. The microphone features a visor-clip
to mount the unit to your vehicle's sun-visor. The visor-clip can be removed and
the microphone an be mounted to your dash using the supplied self-adhesive
bracket.
Bluetooth Audio (A2DP/AVRCP): The Jensen MP1524 also
allows you to play back stored music and streamed music from your Bluetooth
enabled phone, PDA, or personal music player using a Bluetooth connection. You
can control the music stored on your Bluetooth audio player from the MP1524.
This unit does not display song/artist information from Bluetooth audio devices.
Disc & USB Playback
Disc Compatibility: The Jensen MP1524 features a single disc
player that will playback CD-Audio, CD-Text, and finalized CD-R/CD-RW audio
discs. The unit also supports playback of MP3/WMA music files loaded onto
CD-R/RW discs.
Front-Panel USB Port: The MP1524 also features a front-panel
USB (type-A) port that is hidden behind a flip-open cover. The USB port enables
connection and control of a portable USB mass-storage class (MSC) device; such
as your Android smartphone, portable digital audio player, or USB thumbdrive.
The unit supports playback of MP3/WMA music files stored on a compatible USB
memory device formatted with FAT file system. USB portable devices that can be
charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port
(max. 0.5A), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.
Note: You cannot connect a USB device via a USB hub or
Multi-Card Reader to this unit.

Playback Modes: The Jensen MP1524 features the following
Repeat, Random, and Intro playback modes.
- Repeat Play: Track, File, or Folder
- Random Play: Disc or Folder
- Intro Play: Track or File (plays the first 10-seconds
of each music track on a disc or music file in a folder)
Electronic Shockproof (ESP) Function:
Off Eject: You can eject a disc with the unit powered off. You
cannot insert a disc with the head unit powered off.
Installation Angle: 30-degrees
iPod/iPhone Integration
iPod/iPhone Connectivity: The Jensen MP1524 supports
connection to either Dock-connector or Lightning-connector Apple iPods and
iPhones.
iPod/iPhone Control: You can control your connected
iPod/iPhone from the head unit's touchscreen. You can use the MP1524's touchscreen to browse your music by
Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Composer, or Podcast. In addition, you can activate Random & Repeat playback
modes. Most iPod/iPhone device's clickwheel or touchscreen will be locked during
connection (Apple devices w/ iOS 6.0+ will stay unlocked).
Information Display: The Jensen MP1524 will display your iPod/iPhone's
music file information from stored music and select music apps. The head unit will display Track number, Elapsed playing
time, Artist name, and Song/Album title.
Battery Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 0.5A of
current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's
ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position. This unit does not charge
the iPad. If your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will
not recognize it.
iPod/iPhone Compatibility Chart: The Jensen MP1524 is

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results.
If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head
unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work,
you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
AM/FM Radio
AM/FM Tuner: The head unit features a built-in AM/FM tuner
with manual, seek, preset, and direct tuning.
Preset Tuning: The unit features 3 FM bands and 2 AM bands
with the capability of storing 6 presets for each band giving you a total of 18
FM presets and 12 AM presets (30 total). You can also automatically store the
six strongest stations in your area inside the current selected band.
Preset Scan: In addition, the tuner features a Preset Scan
function which allows you to preview your stored preset stations in the selected
band.
Preview Scan: The Scan function will play the first five seconds
of each station, until you find a station you like.
Local Seek: The unit's tuner also is equipped with a Seek mode
that when used with the Local function, only allows radio stations with a strong
local radio signals to be played.
European Tuning: The tuner features selectable North America
and European tuning.
Audio Section
CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the MP1524
are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement
standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were
developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and
between manufacturers. The power output specs for the MP1524 are as follows:
- CEA2006 Specs: 13 watts RMS x 4 channels
(at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
- Maximum Power Output: 40 watts x 4 channels
(160 watts total)
2Ch RCA Outputs: The MP1524 is fitted with a pair of RCA
outputs to connect an external amplifier.
Subwoofer Controls: The Jensen MP1524 offers the following
subwoofer controls, when you have the unit's subwoofer preamp output activated.
- Low Pass Crossover: The receiver features
a built-in Low Pass Crossover for subwoofer preamp output. You
can select from 80Hz, 120Hz, 160Hz, or off.
- Subwoofer Level: Once the Subwoofer preamp
output is activated, you can independently control the subwoofer
preamp output level (+/-14) from the DVD receiver.
Bass & Treble:
Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies
in the low and high sound ranges at low volume.
Source Level: You can increase the relative volume (+/-6dB)
of the unit's source inputs to match the external source's output level. The
Source Level can be used for the MP1524's Radio, Disc, USB, iPod, or AV input.
Programmable Turn-On Volume: You can set the head unit to
turn-on to the last volume level adjustment when turned off, or turn-on to a
pre-defined volume level (0-40) every time you power up the radio.
Beep Tones: An audible beep tone confirms each function
selection. The beep tone can be disabled/enabled in the Setup Menu.
Display Features
Variable Color Button Illumination: The Kenwood Jensen
MP1524 features variable color display and button illumination. You can choose
from one of 24 preset colors, have the unit scan through all 24 preset colors
continuously, or customize your own color (RGB: 0-9). The display and button
illumination can be set to the same color or set independently.
12 or 24 Hour Clock: You can set the unit to display a 12 or
24 hour clock.
Remote Control
IR Remote: The Jensen MP1524 comes supplied with a 21-button IR remote
control which provides wireless operation of the Jensen CD receiver.
