If you'd like to connect your computer to a remotely located monitor, check out the Niles C5-VGA. This clever device uses durable, shielded CAT-5 cable to send VGA video signals to another room in your house or office. It delivers crisp, detailed video, even over cable runs of up to 330 feet.

How it works
You'll need to purchase two VGA baluns to set up a fully functioning system. You can use two C5-VGAs, or pair one with an in-wall model. Connect the first one to a computer or other VGA video source in your main room, then connect it to your in-wall shielded CAT-5 cable. Next, connect your second C5-VGA to CAT-5 cable in your remote room. Then hook it up to a monitor or projector via its VGA jack. The compact C5-VGA doesn't require AC power, and it's wall-mountable for flexible placement.

What is a balun?
A balun gets its name by converting signals between balanced and unbalanced lines. Balanced cables can carry signals over much larger distances than unbalanced lines, because of their superior noise rejection. The C5-VGA balun converts video signals between balanced CAT-5 connections and unbalanced VGA video connections.

    Works Great - But Needed MUCH Better installation instructions!

    This product works like a charm. It was installed to run VGA from a conference room table, to a wall ethernet jack, then up into the ceiling into the projector above. The display looks crisp, and end users are completely unware that this device is even in use. We have had no trouble with it since the installation was completed. However, this device REQUIRES the use of shielded Cat-5 cable, which is not specifically mentioned in the instructions. It took MUCH trial and error to figure this out. I would have very much appreciated a notation in bold lettering with the product, advising me to use shielded cat-5!!!
