Features

Overview: The Terk VR-1 TV Volume Regulator provides effective volume matching for television audio, DVDs, movies and more. It gives you consistent audio levels when surfing from channel to channel, program to program, program to commercial, or between quiet and loud scenes of a movie. In addition to TV, you can use the VR-1 for other audio components that use RCA connectors, such as CD players or MP3 players, to even the audio levels between discs or MP3 tracks.

Digital Signal Processing: It utilizes advanced digital signal processing for instant automatic audio adjustment, responding in .002 seconds to provide balanced audio levels. Noise Reduction technology minimizes the "hiss" that's present in some audio sources.

Automatic Gain Control: A multi-band automatic gain control adjusts bass and treble signals separately to improve dialog.

Connections/Controls: The VR-1 is easy to install. It has a stereo RCA input (for source audio) and a stereo RCA output (to feed to the TV audio input). The only control is a two-way slide switch for selecting "On" or "Bypass". Note: Line level audio connections on the TV are required.

Works great FOREVER

This is the second one im getting I have had one in my main room for 6 years and it works perfect! It is fast response to loud background noise from silent parts or the intro of car commericals. I have no idea about the previous comment about it wearing out or not lasting more than 6 months?

Pros:

Works as advertised perfectly, compact, easy to use, no setup required, plug n play

It does work to a point. Is acceptable but doesn't last but maybe six months.

Works great. Before I got the VR-1, I had to hold the remote and try to anticipate when there would huge volume changes in movies and going from TV to commercials. Drove me crazy. Now, I no longer have to do that. A real ear saver. Easy to install, too. Plug it in, re-route your RCA cables into it, and away you go.
