These speakers were installed in my 2000 GMC Sierra 4dr truck. Rear door panel removal was very easy using the supplied Crutchfield instructions and by viewing a You Tube video prior to installing the speakers. Installing the speakers into the doors required direct attachment to the door frames. In my application, the metal speaker frame/flange does not mate flush with the door sheet metal. So I used exterior grade ½" wide X ¼" thick, single sided sticky, foam (McMaster-Carr) on the back side of the speaker frame prior to install. I used four #8 X 1/2" Zinc, self-drilling Pan Head Phillip Screws purchased at HD. Make sure the speaker is centered in the existing speaker hole before attaching the first screw. Once the speaker is centered, place a 6" level on the top to maintain level and plumb. Start the tapping process using one of the holes on the top right. Once the self-drilling screw "grabs" the door sheet metal; stop. While maintaining level, place the 2nd screw in the upper left corner making sure to stop as noted above. Repeat for the bottom. Now starting in the upper left corner, start to tighten down each screw several turns before going to the next fastener in a "Z" pattern. Repeat until the screws are snug and the foam compresses. The foam helps from bending the speaker's metal flange and provides some insulation between the speaker frame and the door. See the Pros below for more info.

Pros:

Because of the extra length of wire from using the speaker adapter, you will need to tie wrap the excess speaker wire to an existing wire bundle to preclude the speaker connection from vibrating against the door during normal driving conditions. Once these speakers are installed, you will notice a 1000% improvement over the replaced OEM speakers.

These speakers are a great replacement for the factory OEM in dash. Sound quality is a bit better in the mid range. All else is about equal. Crutchfield installation accessories fit perfectly. The entire replacement took less than 30 minutes. If you are looking to replace without upgrading, these are a fine replacement . 2003 Jeep Wrangler w/ factory 4 speaker set up.

Originally I called Crutchfield to make sure what size speakers I needed to replace all 6 stock speakers in my crew cab 2001 S-10. My dash speakers were small tweeters mounted on a 4x6 bracket. They said I probably wouldn't be able to get these to fit in their place, but when I took the old ones out, there was quite a lot of room, and I could push the A/C vent down a little for extra room. These fit almost perfectly on both sides, they are very snug. I also bought four 6 1/2" Kickers to go with these. My two front doors are installed, and sound GREAT with these. I have to rewire the two back doors though, so they are still in the packaging.

Pros:

Fit very snugly in my 2001 Chevy S-10 Crew Cab.

Cons:

Not listed to fit my vehicle.

I bought these speakers last summer and i just blew the second one today. They have both broken in less than a year. I dont constantly blast my music and any speakers should be able to handle what i do. Don't waist your money on these.

I put these in my 94' Chevy K1500 to replace some blown speakers. Crutchfield's fitment says they only fit the rear pillar but they fit (barely) in the dash too. Great, clear sound in the mids and highs, not much bass (to be expected from a 4x6). For the sound you get you can't beat the price and Crutchfield, as always, kills it with customer service!

These speakers sound amazing the for their size. The installation was super easy no struggle or hassle. The box came with everything you need or might need, crutchfield prepares you as best as possible. The speakers deliver crisp, loud, clear music. The bass behind these caught me off guard the do produce a good but of bass and it, as well is clear and does not cause distortion. That is if you keep them at a reasonable volume. I highly recommend these.
