Overview: The Kenwood KCA-iP102 USB Direct Connection Cable for iPod allows you to connect a compatible iPod or iPhone to a 2011-up USB-equipped Kenwood in-dash head unit. This cable enables a Kenwood head unit to control and charge your iPod while connected, as well as enable high-speed iPod data communication so you can listen to your iTunes content through your compatible Kenwood head unit.

Kenwood head unit Compatibility: The KCA-iP102 cable is designed for all 2011-up Kenwood and Kenwood Excelon CD Receivers featuring One-Wire iPod USB Direct Control.

This cable is less expensive than what is available locally. My local stereo place wanted $49.95 for the same thing! This cable while inexpensive is actually a pretty heavy duty rugged cable which is more than suitable for wiring up my ipod to my new head unit.

Very Poor Design--Nothing Special--Cheaply Made

I bought this cable thinking it would be the best cable for my new Kenwood receiver---as advertised. Wrong. This cable is so darn thick and bulky that you could use it to pull your buddy out of a ditch. It's too rigid to coil up and put your iPhone in a concealed area without putting too much pressure on the phone's adapter connection. This cable could really damage your iPhone or iPod. It is so unforgiving that any awkward movements, which are bound to happen in a car, could break the phone's internal adapter connection. Risk a $500.00 iPhone on a cable made for $0.00001?? No. You don't need this cable, it's nothing special or proprietary to your Kenwood receiver............any other aftermarket USB--iPhone cable will work and will be more pliable and user friendly than this one.

Bulky, thick, non-pliable, unforgiving, can damage iPhone or iPod.

This is great. I didn't know it even existed. I found out about it when I purchased my new Kenwood deck and it is great. I'm ordering another one when I'm done with this review.

Indeed this is a sturdy and well made cable. It locks into your i-device port solidly. The only problem is that the prongs that allow it to lock so securely make it too wide to fit through the Otter Box case. You have to remove the case, or use the OEM Apple connector. Sigh.

This is a well made cable. Heavy duty enough to withstand the constant movement in a car but not too stiff. The USB cable allows me to control my IPOD from my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X696 receiver.

Heavy duty. Permits receiver to control IPOD ( requires IPOD ready receiver).
Cons:
Somewhat pricey but you get what you pay for.
