Great speakers and service worth the extra price.

First, I will state the obvious - Crutchfield was more expensive. These speakers could be had for at least $10 less elsewhere. But then again, you do not get the service and speaker brackets/wire harnesses Crutchfield provides.

Second, the order arrived very quickly with free shipping and no tax. What amazed me was the installation instructions and wire harnesses that made installation a breeze. The only issue I encountered was that the screws and clips provided did not fit my daughter's RAV4. One trip to the local Ace and the problem was solved.

The speakers are a vast improvement over the stock units and provide a good value. So much so that I am ordering another pair today for the rear doors - from Crutchfield.

I dropped these into the kick panels of my '01 Honda Civic LX Coupe. Just needed to drill some holes and that was that. The problem showed up when less than 2 days later the left side blew out and got scratchy. My HU is a cheap Dual from walmart (it was cheap and has an IPod hook up). So I know that the Dual doesn't push that much power to blow these speakers. I read reviews of people hooking these up to amps and they do fine. Definitely not impressed with the QC at Kicker. This is my first purchase from Kicker and definitely my last. You only get one shot at a first impression and they blew it.

One speaker blew within 48 hours.

Replaced stock GM speakers in my 06 GMC Sierra. Very surprised how good these speakers sound for the price. Installed an older Alpine amp to boost front set and they are fantastic. Very clear with good mids, highs, and decent bass. I did add a sub that I had laying around from another install about a week after installing these and that finished it off nicely.

Pros:

Great price, very good sound, good instructions, and as always superb support from Crutchfield if needed.

Great upgrade over stock. Moderate install. Bit more work to change out the speaker mounts, new holes need to be drilled on my Xterra. Besides that, very straight forward install, all mounting screws and wiring connectors in the box. First non Kenwood speaker purchase, so far worth the extra money.

Easy install, great sound. Well worth it.

Cons:

Drilling new mounting holes.

As you all know factory systems are complete garbage and for my 2000 jeep cherokee thats an understatement. I compared many different speakers specs and prices and actually decided to purchase kicker DS60s for my front doors and kicker DS525s for my rear roof. I will have to say that i am very pleased with the clarity and power that the tweeters can belt out. The vocals to every song come out crystal clear with no distortion and thats without an amp its just my kenwood excelon head unit powering them. Now as for bass resonse I can't really say cuz I turned up the high pass filter since I have 2 12" JBL GT-5 subs in the back pounding all the bass. But even for anyone out there who is just looking to upgrade they're boring factory paper speakers and not adding subs I highly reccomend these speakers they sound amazing and are an incredible value. Kicker is da ish lolllll

Pros:

Sweet crystal clear highs and they look really cool too lol. Installation was soooo easy.

Cons:

Cons? None at all!

01 Jeep Cherokee front doors - Good speakers

I purchased these speakers at the recommendation of a Crutchfield adviser. She indicated they had good sensitivity and would fit into my doors after only drilling new holes. I was actually able to use the existing holes, and these speakers are being held in by the two screws they came with and are doing great. The sound is clean and clear. Bass is perfectly acceptable considering I have no amp/subwoofer and don't intend on getting them. I have Kicker KS525's in the back; I asked the adviser about KS being better than the DS series and she said it wouldn't matter for my system (no amp/woofer) and that these DS's had good sensitivity as I mentioned. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. The speakers were put in easily with the connectors Crutchfield sent and sound great. I do need to play around a bit with the treble - it's a bit sharp right now, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Pros:

Clear sound. Good price. Easy installation.

Cons:

None so far.

These are great speakers at a great price! I installed them in my 2000 Nissan Frontier, and they fit, with a little stretching of the factory mounts. The free wiring kit supplied by Crutchfield made installation Quick. They are a huge improvement over the blown out 12 yr old original speakers in the car, and they have sufficient bass to compete with the 10' sub in the back. I'd definitely recommend these to anybody wanting to upgrade from factory sound. well worth the money.

These are great speakers at a great price! I installed them in my '95 Jaguar XJ6, and they fit perfectly. The free wiring kit supplied by Crutchfield made installation a snap. They are a vast improvement over the worn-out original speakers in the car, and they have sufficient bass to suit both my taste and the character of the car. I'd definitely recommend these to anybody wanting to upgrade from factory sound.

Crutchfield says that they are 6-1/2" speakers, but they are really only 6", but they do have extended mounting tabs on them to mount to 6-1/2". If you want true 6-1/2" kickers they would be model DS65 not DS60. The speakers themselves are great. A huge improvement over stock.

These speakers sound great and look great. They are excellent for replacing old speakers or factory speakers like I did. The bass is pretty impressive for the size. Others have said that the bass is a con but I don't see an issue with it. Granted its not the same as two 10s nor even compareable but they are middrange speakers and do what they are supposed to

For the price, the speakers are fine. Nothing great. The bass response isn't very good at all, but after tweaking with the bass level on my stereo, I found a decent sound. Still better than factory speakers.

Very good product overall. Installation was easy following the Crutchfield instructions but I had to mod the rear speaker Honda covers. I just couldn't find them to fit right. The Kickers fit in the opening to the vehicle, but not once I tried putting the Honda cover back on, so I cut about a 1/4"-1/2" ring into both rear covers and it fit fine. It must have been the weird shape the speakers' outer frame had. Also, even after new speakers in the rear my civic kept the cheap, computer-speaker sound my stock speakers had. Hopefully a new head unit(I'm still using stock) will separate the sound better. I also installed the DS60's in the front and thats when I saw the real Kicker performance! Excellent highs and mids, and decent bass.

Don't expect them to rattle your door too much but it provides very good bass for the interior of the cabin. For someone on a budget and wants a replacement to the stock speakers, get these. You'll notice the difference in quality once you compare the weight of the magnets and quality.

Installed on a 10' Civic EX sedan stock radio.

Pros:

Great sound, quality, easy installation and you can't beat the price for what you're getting!

Cons:

Had to mod the rear Honda speakers coverings a little bit. For some reason these speakers sound bad in the rear deck and great in the front. Must be the stock head unit cause a 5 yr old could install them so I know it was the installation.

good speakers. put them in the back door of a 2008 nissan frontier king cab, matched up with a jvc dvd head unit. solid sound but I will still need a woofer for good bass. installation was easy-ish. Thanks crutchfield for the mounting plates. Had to drill one extra hole in the door on each side to line up the screw holes but seems to be firmly attached.
