The woofer cones are mica
filled polypropylene, a strong, lightweight material with high internal
damping to provide excellent sound reproduction.
The spider has the job of centering the voice coil
and providing the rear suspension for the speaker. The Fanatic P Component system woofers
use a cupped spider to ensure great sound with long life and durability.
A 1" Voice Coil
with an anodized aluminum former for more efficient heat dissipation
helps ensure durability and high power handling.
A synthetic fluid (Ferrofluid) is
placed in the magnetic gap of the tweeter to aid in the cooling of the voice coil; this
results in higher power handling and greater reliability.
are used to produce a strong magnetic field, so that a small magnet may be used to enable
a tweeter to have very high performance.
The 3/4" dome tweeters come
installed in the flush mount sockets. To remove the tweeter from the
socket, turn the backplate of the socket counter clockwise, then lift the backplate away
from the socket to access the tweeter.
Options: The tweeters may be flush, surface or "wedge"
mounted. The tweeters swivel inside the flush and surface mount sockets, but do
not swivel in the "wedge mount" socket. The "wedge mount"
sockets surface mount to the vehicle and hold the tweeters at a fixed angle (may be
mounted to provide a 15 or 60 degree angle). The tweeters must be installed using one of
the three sockets.

The crossovers contain an 18dB/octave,
6.3kHz high-pass network to prevent low frequencies from being sent to the
tweeters; full range signals are sent to the woofers (extreme high and low frequencies are
automatically rolled off by the woofer according to it's inherent high and low frequency
Tweeter Protection:This built-in protection circuit limits power to the
tweeter when the "danger" threshold is exceeded. Because the circuit simply
limits power and doesn't shut the tweeter off, this method of protection is inaudible.

The manual lists separate sensitivity specs for the woofer (86.4dB) and tweeter (91dB).
The sensitivity figure listed in the Crutchfield database is the average of the two
individual sensitivity specifications. The average sensitivity (88.7dB) is given
because it more accurately represents the overall sensitivity of the system; this permits
a better estimation of the power needed for clean, high volume output.
