Why do I need an enclosure?

An enclosure is simply the box that houses your sub; sealed and ported enclosures are the most popular types. A sealed enclosure is usually smaller in size, sacrificing a little volume level to deliver more accurate bass. The ported enclosure features a vent which allows bass waves to escape from behind the mounted sub, augmenting the bass coming off the front of the sub. Ported boxes are louder, bigger, and a little less accurate. Every sub works best in the size and type of enclosure that's recommended by the manufacturer, so make sure you match your sub with the right box.

Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

The BB122-125V ported enclosure holds two 12" subwoofers and offers an internal volume of 1.36 cubic feet per chamber. Its large vents feature rounded inner corners that keep port noise to a minimum for more accurate response. Just add the right subs, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Features

Materials: The Sound Ordnance BB122-125V Bass Bunker is an unloaded, hatchback-style ported enclosure for two 12" subwoofers. It is constructed of 5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), covered in black carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has two separate chambers, each with 1.36 cubic feet of airspace.

Terminals: The BB122-125V is equipped with two pair of spring-post speaker terminals, one for each chamber, mounted in the rear panel. The spring terminals will accept bare wire up to 10 gauge, pin connectors, and single banana plugs, but are spaced too far apart for dual banana plugs. Inside the enclosure, each set of terminals has an attached 24" length of speaker wire for connecting the subwoofer.

Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure to your vehicle are recommended.

I'M PUSHING 2 12" PIONEER PRO SERIES 1000 WATT EACH RMS , AND THIS ENCLOSURE HAS MY SUB'S BOOMING LOUD AND HARD . I WOULD RECOMEND THIS ENCLOSURE TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A GREAT BOOM SOUND FROM YOUR SUB'S.

This box is ok, but if u want loud clean bass I would recomend a different box.

Great Enclosure

First off, let me start by saying that this was my first purchase from Crutchfield.

I needed a good enclosure to replace my old single 12" sealed enclosure, on which the rear wire inputs became loose and were lighting on fire. I went to Best Buy prior to landing on Crutchfield.The enclosures there sucked!! They were either $150+ or you had to assemble them yourself.

After a little bit of research, and help from the wonderful people at Crutchfield, I landed on this bad boy.

Because the sides of the enclosure were separated, it allowed me to put my old Sony XPlod sub on one side and still use it while I waited to get money for a second one.

By going from a SEALED enclosure to a PORTED enclosure, I noticed an incredible gain of booming bass! Later, I added another Sony XPlod sub, and OH MAN you can hear me coming from a mile away.

I have owned this product for about a year now, and I can tell you with confidence that it has exceeded my expectations in terms of durability and longevity. No components are even close to becoming loose.

One more thing before I end this review - This thing is HEAVY. Heavy in a good way though. Not like, dragging your trunk on the ground or lowering your rear end heavy. With my old sub enclosure, I had to use a heavy duty stapler to staple industrial strength velcro to it. On this one, It's weight keeps it from sliding all over my trunk!

I purchased this 12" subwoofer enclosure and I am completely satisfied. First, I love its size--it is not too large like some of the other enclosures. It fit right into my 2007 altima with ease--I was able to tug it right behind the seat. The dimensions were good enough to allow my 12" kenwoods to punch out tight quality bass. Thanks to everyone at Crutchfield I am customer for life.
