Note: Go to Crutchfield's Outfit
My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible with the
SWIECL2 steering wheel radio control interface.
Known incompatible vehicles:
- BMW: All BMWs with factory-activated
cell phones and All with 5-volt SWC data wire at the steering
column
- Toyota: 1998-2003 Sienna vans
- Volvo: All vehicles
Head Unit Compatibility: The interface is compatible with
any aftermarket steering remote ready Eclipse radio that has wired remote input
leads.
Easily Programmable: The buttons on your steering wheel may
be assigned to any of the following five Eclipse functions: volume up, volume
down, mode, track up, and track down.
Non-volatile memory: This feature keeps all programming in
memory even if the vehicle battery is disconnected.
Great for Convertibles: The SWI-ECL2 sends commands to
compatible head units via wires, so bright sunlight will not affect operation,
like it does with infrared based interfaces. Unlike the SWI-X, the SWI-ECL2 is
not affected by bright sunlight
Resistor Kit: Some vehicles have a separate wire for each
of the steering wheel buttons. Use the resistor kit for steering wheel push
buttons that do not already have a resistor network connected to them. The
resistor kit includes the following resistors:
- 47 Ohms (yellow,violet, black)
- 100 Ohms (brown, black, brown, gold)
- 150 Ohms (brown, green, brown)
- 560 Ohms (green, blue, brown)
- 1000 Ohms (brown, black, red)
- 1500 Ohms (brown, green, red)
- 3900 Ohms (orange, white, red)
- 5100 Ohms (green, brown, red)
