memory, even if a card is installed.
Image Formats: Still images are recorded in
JPEG (Exif 2.21), while movies are recorded in AVI format (CODEC:
Motion JPEG, Audio: μ-Law).

at
VGA resolution (640 x 480 @ 30 fps). Maximum file size for Standard Definition video is 4 GB.
Optics: The camera features an f/2.9-f/5.2 3x Optical Zoom Lens. Combined with the 5x digital zoom, the telephoto capabilities
are extended to
a total zoom of approximately 15x. The lens has a focal length of 32-96mm (35mm equivalent).
Focus/Exposure Zone: The camera

automatically switches to Multi-Zone.
- Multi-Zone: Evaluates 5 zones to give an even picture focus.
Ideal for general picture taking.
- Center-Zone: Evaluates the small area centered in the lens. Ideal
when you need precise focus.
AF Control: You can choose from the following AF settings:
- Single AF: Focuses only when the
shutter button is pressed halfway down.
- Continuous AF: The camera is always focusing,
eliminating the
need to press the shutter button halfway down to focus. This method uses
more battery power.
Focusing Range:
The camera features the following focus ranges:
-
Normal AF:
- 0.3' to infinity (W)
- 1.1' to infinity (T)

flash to reduce red eye phenomenon) or Off (flash doesn't fire). The
flash has a working range (@ ISO 400) of 1' to 13.1' in Wide Angle and 1.6' to 6.6' in
Telephoto.
Note: In addition to Red Eye flash mode, the camera can be set
to digitally correct red eye without the pre-flash firing.
Color Modes: You can
choose the look and feel of the photos you take by selecting one of the
following Color Mode effects: Vivid Color,
Full Color, Basic Color, Black & White, or Sepia.

take up to 3 pictures in quick succession (about 1.5 frames per second) while
the shutter button is held down. The focus and exposure are set with the
first picture.

need to correct the exposure so that the subject doesn't come out too dark. You
can set the adjustments from -2 to +2 in 1/3-step increments.

You can choose from the following white
balance settings (available in Program and Panorama modes):
-
Auto:
the camera sets the white balance automatically according to shooting

Self-Timer: The self-timer starts when the shutter button is
pressed. The delay time can be set to 10 seconds (so you have time to get into
the scene), 2 seconds (for a steady shutter release on a tripod), or 2 Picture
Timer. In
the 2 Picture Timer mode, the first picture is taken after a 10-second delay, and the
second picture is taken 8 seconds later.
Long Time Exposure: You can choose how long the shutter
stays open, normally in low-light conditions. It is recommended that a tripod be
used for long exposures. You can choose from the following long exposure times:
0.5, 1, 2, 4, or 8 seconds.
Multimedia Slide Show: You can create a multimedia slide
show to display your pictures and videos on the LCD. You can select which
pictures/videos to show, or show them all. You can also customize the slide show
with music and your choice of transitions. Slide shows can be saved for later
replay if you desire.

vacation) or person's names. The camera can learn to recognize people by name
when face technology is used and names and faces are matched.
