Features
Overview: The Novero TheTrustyOne is a universal Bluetooth in-car kit
which installs in almost any vehicle, pairs with almost any Bluetooth-enabled
mobile phone, and is simple to control. This Bluetooth in-car kit consists of a
hide-away Bluetooth module, wired remote control, external microphone, and
wiring harness. Vehicle specific T-harnesses are available and sold separately.
Bluetooth Technology: TheTrustyOne Bluetooth in-car kit supports
Bluetooth version 2.1+EDR. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth
Profiles:
- Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile),
HSP (Head Set Profile).
- Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution
Profile), AVRCP 1.3 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Multipoint Pairing: TheTrustyOne synchs effortlessly with the vast
majority of Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones (including iPhone, Blackberry, &
Android). You can pair TheTrustyOne to up to eight different Bluetooth devices.
TheTrustyOne supports "Multipoint" with newest software, so you can connect two
phones simultaneously to receive calls from either one. One phone will be
assigned primary status and the other secondary status. You can use the primary
phone to make/receive calls and play music, while the secondary phone can only
receive calls. Alternatively, you can connect TheTrustyOne to a phone and a
music player.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology,
some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or
may not support all features when used with TheTrustyOne.
Auto On/Connection: TheTrustyOne will automatically turn on in Phone
mode when you start your car, and turn off when you switch off the ignition.
TheTrustyOne will automatically try to connect with your previously paired phone
when you get into your vehicle. If connection is successful you will hear a
short beep. If connection is unsuccessful you will hear a warning tone.
Remote Control: TheTrustyOne Bluetooth in-car kit comes with
a wired remote control which is intuitive and easy to use, for minimal driver
distraction. The wired remote control connects to the included hide-away module
with an attached 57" cable. The remote control has the following controls:

Voice Prompts: TheTrustyOne tells you, who is calling, in various
languages. Available languages are English (US or UK), French (French Canadian),
Spanish (Mexican Spanish), German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and
Polish. Some languages will require a software update.
External Microphone w/ DSP: TheTrustyOne has an external microphone
with noise reduction and echo cancellation technology. The microphone features
an adjustable mounting bracket which allows you to point the mic in any
direction for best performance in your vehicle.
Voice Recognition: TheTrustyOne gives you one-click access to the
voice recognition functions on your phone, so you can use voice-activated
dialing as well as more advanced features like voice-controlled SMS or email.
Software Update: Updating TheTrustyOne's software is easy. Simply
install the
Novero Software Update Tool onto your computer and connect TheTrustyOne with
a USB cable (sold separately) through the micro-USB connector on the remote
controller. Software updates/downloads requires Windows 7 (32-/64-bit), XP
(32-bit), Vista (32-Bit), or Mac (OSx).
Installation
Vehicle Specific T-Harness (optional): An optional, vehicle-specific
T-harness adapter (sold separately) may be available to simplify the
installation of the TheTrustyOne Bluetooth kit in your vehicle. The adapter
plugs into this unit's power and mute cables, and it interfaces with your
vehicle's factory wiring. Please, enter your vehicle in the
Outfit My Car online vehicle selector to see if a T-harness is available for
your vehicle.
Note: TheTrustyOne can be hardwired into your vehicle (without the
use of a T-Harness), but makes installation much more difficult. Hardwire
installations should only be done by a knowledgeable or professional
installer.
Aux Output: TheTrustyOne is fitted with a 3.5mm auxiliary output.
Using a stereo minijack cable (sold separately), you can connect the Bluetooth
in-car kit to your factory or aftermarket head unit's auxiliary input. This
allows the caller's voice and your streamed music to be heard through your
vehicle's speakers. This type of installation only requires the hardwire of the
power, ground, and car radio mute wires.
Install Locations: The hide-away Bluetooth module installs
under your vehicle's dash or behind the radio, while the wired remote control
attaches to your vehicle's dash surface. The external microphone can be mounted
to your vehicle's driver side A-pillar.
