The sharp-looking, fold-down faceplate on Blaupunkt's Sacramento CD33 detaches to protect this high-performance CD receiver. The simple control panel, decked out with red and blue button lighting and a multicolor display, adds a colorful touch of style to your dash.

The Sacramento's high power (25 watts RMS/55 peak x 4) will make your CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs sound their best. Blaupunkt's best analog tuner provides clean AM/FM reception. Six preset EQ curves let you shape the tone quickly, while X-Bass offers 4 levels of bass enhancement. Source tone memory stores different bass and treble levels for CD or radio, so you don't suffer through irritating level changes when switching modes.

Your options for system expansion are wide open. Connect an optional Blaupunkt CD changer for long-playing, multi-disc entertainment. Or use the optional auxiliary input to plug in your portable MP3 player, plug-and-play satellite radio system, or any outboard audio source. The preamp outputs supply signal to a powered subwoofer so you can add some thunder to the bottom end. The optional remote control lets you keep your eyes on the road while operating your radio.

Features

Turn On/Off Messages: When turning on and off the receiver, messages will appear on the display. There are two turn-on messages ("Hello" and "Welcome") and two turn-off messages ("See You" and "Good-bye"). These messages can be customized to any 8-character message you desire. You can also turn off the messages entirely in the menu.

Sound Stage: You can select the position of the sound stage to best serve a particular seat. There are 4 preset positions and 2 user modes, each stored in one of the preset buttons (1-6). They are accessible when you are in Balance/Fader adjust mode in the Audio Menu. Each preset has a corresponding balance and fader setting which presents a balanced sound to that particular seat or group of seats. Furthermore, you can adjust the preset sound stage settings and re-store them under the same preset number. Note: These Sound Stage settings do not use any digital time alignment or time delay to create the effect.

CD Text: This unit is compatible with CD Text discs, and will display the encoded information on the front panel. Note: CD Text is not a function of the current compatible CD changer.

Preset EQ Curves: This receiver features an equalizer curve for 4 music types: Rock, Pop, Classic and Jazz stored in one of the preset buttons (1-4). Each EQ preset has a corresponding bass, treble, loudness and X-Bass setting, and are accessible from the Audio Menu. You can adjust any of the preset EQ curves and store the desired sound characteristics in one of the two User EQ curves (Presets 5-6). You can also turn off the EQ curves if desired.

X-Bass: The X-Bass feature boosts bass response, centered at 72Hz, for more dynamic sound. You may select from four levels of boost, or you may turn the X-Bass feature off.

Source Tone Memory: The settings for Bass, Treble, Loudness, and X-Bass can be independently stored for each source (FM, AM, CD, CD-Changer, or AUX).

Turn-on Volume Limit: Once the turn-on volume limit is set, the receiver will turn on with the volume set at either the preset maximum or the volume setting when the receiver was last turned off, whichever is lower. This feature prevents you from being overpowered by an unexpected, high volume blast of output when you turn the unit on.

Adjustable Mute: You can quickly reduce the volume of the receiver by pressing the Mute button. The amount of volume reduction can be adjusted in the menu.

Ignition-off Clock Recall: When the ignition is off, the clock can be displayed for 5 seconds by pressing the display button.

Travel Store: You can automatically store the strongest 6 AM and 6 FM station using the Travel Store function. These presets are stored in bands FM3 and AM2, regardless of what band you're presently listening to.

Local/Distant Selection: You can select the signal strength at which the radio will stop during Seek tuning. If you select the Local setting, only strong (local) stations will be received. If you select the Distant setting, the radio will stop at a wider range of signals, including weaker, distant stations.

Scan and Preset Scan Tuning: The scan feature allows you to listen to each station in a band (AM or FM) for 10 seconds, until you stop the scan function by selecting the station you want to hear.  The preset scan feature allows you to listen to each preset station in a band (AM or FM) for 10 seconds, until you stop the scan function by selecting the preset station you want to hear.

Station Naming: You can enter names of up to 8 characters each for up to 30 radio stations. Once you've entered names for radio stations, you may search for and select stations by name (Station Call).

Aux Input "Ready": A changer adapter (023BPVA08) and an aux input harness (023AUXIN1R) must be purchased and connected to this unit (as long as a CD changer is not connected) to provide input for a portable cassette, MD or MP3 player. Once connected, you can enter a name for the input of up to 8 characters. You can also set the level of the Aux input source in comparison to the other sources. When a CD changer is connected to the head unit, there is no place to connect the AUX input adapter, so CD changer use prevents access to the AUX input feature.

Compatible With Optional Remote: This unit is compatible with the optional RC823 wireless credit card-sized remote. You can also control the unit with an optional "Thummer"-type steering wheel mounted remote.

Changer Controls

Compatibility: Using an optional adapter (023BPVA08), this unit can control the following Blaupunkt changers: CDC-A08, CDC-A071, and IDC- A09. Using an additional optional adapter (A0598), this unit can control the CDC-A05 changer.

Controls:

  • Disc up/down
  • Track up/down
  • Track audible search (either direction)
