Satellite Speakers
Drivers: Each satellite houses a 2-3/4"
titanium deposit polypropylene cone midrange with butyl rubber surround and a
3/4" pure titanium hybrid (PTH) dome tweeter mounted on the Omniguide.
Omnipolar Technology: By utilizing the natural room
reflections this speaker design radiates sound in a 360° pattern, expanding the
sweet spot to encompass virtually the entire room.
Omniguide: The patented Omniguide module utilizes two
deflectors, one each for the tweeter and midrange. The module disperses sound
the way the ear and brain are accustomed to receiving it; thirty percent is
direct sound, the other seventy percent is reflected off walls, ceilings, floors
and other surfaces for a completely immersive, 360º experience.
Enclosure: The satellites have an acoustic
suspension, extruded aluminum enclosure.
Speaker Terminals: Each
satellite features high-quality binding post
speaker terminals for a secure and convenient connection. You will need to
remove a plug that's inserted in the center of the binding post if you wish to
use single banana plugs, the terminals are too far apart for dual banana plugs.
Spade connectors, pin connectors, or bare wire up to 10 gauge can also be used.
Mounting: The NanoSat speaker comes with a key-hole slot wall mount bracket
installed. The bracket is mounted with one screw and can position the speaker
right side up or upside down. Once mounted the speaker can swivel left or right
(approximately +/-40°). The bracket mounts the speaker
approximately 1/4" from the wall. The 1/4" 20 threaded insert on the bottom
can also be used with other brackets. If you mount the satellite speaker
more than six feet off the floor, Mirage recommends turning it upside down. If you
place the satellite speaker on a table or shelf, put it as close to the front edge as
possible.
Video Shielded: The
satellites are magnetically shielded for
safe placement near your TV or computer monitor without causing picture
interference.
Powered Subwoofer
Design: The down-firing 8" sub features Mirage's patented
Ribbed Elliptical Surround technology. The Elliptical Surround encompasses the
cone, allowing it to move identically in both directions, reducing distortion.
It also allows for a larger cone surface and greater peak to peak movement,
resulting in better efficiency and bass extension. The port is front facing.
Connections: The
Nano S8 has spring clip speaker level inputs and stereo RCA line-level inputs.
Use the left RCA input when connecting to a single LFE output. If available, Mirage
recommends using the line input with the preamp's crossover set as close to 120
Hz as possible.
Phase: The phase is reversible; 0 or 180 degrees.
Crossover: The crossover is continuously adjustable from 40
Hz to 150 Hz.
Volume: The subwoofer has a
separate volume level, allowing you to adjust the subwoofer volume relative to the
rest of the system.
Power:
The power switch has three positions; on, off, and auto. In the auto position
the sub turns on when it senses an audio signal and turns off after
several minutes with no signal.
