This is definitely a great looking unit but i can see how it would be easy to mark it up when trying to install it or remove it. All the pieces fit together well but it is a hassle to remove.

The dash kit looks very OEM and clean however two of the tabs were broken on it when it came in from shipping. I was too excited so I installed it anyways but look right away when it comes in to make sure its not broken. Also figured I cant complain since its free!

I used this to install a radio in a 2010 VW Touareg and I will probably be the only one to notice that I had to turn the unit upside down to get it to fit (the clips are different lengths on one side vs the other) , and even then it felt like I had to force it. The thing is jammed in there I don't think it will ever come out. Someone could do much better.

Works But.....

this install kit is marginal at best. The assembly is adequate but not even close to the factory stereo. This kit uses all plastic clips where the factory unit used very strong and stable metal clips. It was very difficult to get the stereo installed in the dash. I actually had to put the stereo in the dash, install the mounting bracket and then pull the stereo outwards and snap it in the mounting bracket. It would not snap in the dash, period, with the stereo mounted in the part with the clips. Then the trim ring would not fit around the stereo, I had to sand down the opening to get it to fit properly. All pieces are plastic. I would not buy again. It holds the stereo firmly in the dash now but a novice would not be able to use this to install the stereo.

all plastic, did not install easily, trim ring not proper size

This kit is intended to mount the radio and then snap into place. Once you mount a double-din unit you lose the ability to snap in place due to clearance issues. I was able to use the front trim piece after removing the snap in tabs but had to mount the stereo to the vehicle frame.

This faceplate is not practical for its intended application. I am installing a double DIN
system, and the clips will not fit between the dash and the stereo. If you manage to get it
installed, it cannot be removed without breaking the plate's clips.

I lost money on this plate because I had to modify it to get it installed, and the stereo sits
too deep to match.

The faceplate looks great, like it was always there, but there were no instructions and it took forever to get installed. I need to take the unit out but can't because there are no instructions and I don't want to mess up the faceplate. Should have gotten a 5, but looks can't be everything.
