Good music becomes great when you hear it through Polk's db Series car speakers. Polk engineers use laser imaging to determine the ideal combination of speaker materials and design to eliminate distortion. The resulting technology produces speakers with smooth frequency response, sharp detail, and the ability to play music at high volumes without strain.

Polk's db651 speakers feature 6-1/2" woofers made from a polymer/mica composite and durable rubber surrounds that won't fall apart under stress from heat, moisture, or time. Liquid-cooled 3/4" silk/polymer dome tweeters use powerful Neodymium magnets to deliver precise high-frequency reproduction, enveloping you in bright musical detail. And you can even pivot the tweeters, aiming them at your ears for improved stereo imaging. The built-in two-way crossovers keep the high and low frequencies flowing to the proper drivers for seamless, efficient audio.

These speakers feature stainless steel mounting hardware and muscular ABS grilles that will add a stylish touch to your car's interior.

    Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

    Woofer Cones: Each speaker features a Dynamic Balance polymer/mica composite mineral-filled cone. The cones are stiff and lightweight for big sound and low distortion.

    Butyl Rubber Surrounds:For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use butyl rubber surrounds.

    Kapton Voice Coil Former: The low-mass Kapton Voice Coil former is lightweight for high sound output. Kapton's high melting temperature (725°F) ensures high power handling and longer reliability.

    Silk/Polymer Composite Tweeters: The 3/4" liquid-cooled, silk/polymer composite tweeters provide clear, detailed highs. The tweeters use neodymium magnets.

    Pivoting Tweeter: The tweeter pivots, allowing you to to aim it toward your listening position for better imaging.

    2-way Crossover Network: The built-in 2-way crossover network sends the appropriate frequencies to each driver for cleaner sound and better imaging.

    Mounting Ring: The supplied mounting ring has mounting holes for both 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications, allowing the speaker to fit more vehicles. In most cases, the ring should be used to mount the speaker.

    Grilles: Strong ABS plastic grilles are included. These computer optimized grilles are based on exclusive MOMO designs.

    I got these along with the shallows. The site said that they would only fit up front. I took a chance and got the shallows for the back doors and was also able to get the adapters and wire kits. Sound is an upgrade. If u want bass get sub to go along. Not bad set of speakers though.

    I installed these in my 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab. The speaker adapters and speaker wire harness connectors Crutchfield provides makes the job so incredibly easy! The master instruction guide from Crutchfield is awesome. Took me longer to take the door panels off then it did to install the speakers. The difference between stock speakers and these polks cannot even be compared. So much better! Also, I have a Alpine amp pushing these and they can handle every bit of power you feed them.

    Great. Even marine grade. they have built in tweeters so if you looking for bass this isn't them. If you want to upgrade to a nice stereo these are great mids and high speakers. They are very loud and crisp.

    One of my factory installed speakers died in my almost 9 year old truck. So I had them all replaced & professionally installed with these speakers. They sound great. I am not an audiophile but they sound 100x better than my original truck factory speakers...They fact that they are paired up with my none factory Sony explod head unit makes a huge difference..

    bought these polks to replace the factory speakers in my new kia soul. the difference is night and day, the polks handle everything the factory stereo can dish out. they sound great, good bass response clean highs, nice speakers.

    Cons:
    rear speaker bracket did'nt work with these speakers, mounting holes exceeded the diameter of the bracket.

    I recently purchased a 2005 GMC Serria 1500 Crew Cab and the door speakers were shot. I decided to replace them with the Polk Audio db651 speakers and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The installation was fairly easy and the adaptors included made the speaker wire connections a snap. Just be sure to watch the video on YouTube first to make getting the door panels off eaiser. If you're not handy with a drill and figuring out how to adapt the front speakers to fit, you might want to get a friend to help. The speakers sounded a little flat at first but after a few days they sounded great. Good bass, midrange and treble. If the CD player in my stock radio wasn't broken I wouldn't change it. That will be my next project and I'll probably come back to Crutchfield for that.

    For the money, the speakers sound so much better than originals! Crutchfield Team made this installation as simple as it can get! Very happy with the advice received on the whole audio setup!

    I got these to go with my JVC head unit in my truck and they sound great. I've had a lot of good experience with Polk DB speakers in the past and these were even better than I thought. I was expecting the bass to be non-existent or very weak, but they are very well rounded and actually thump a little depending on the music. (Your results may vary...it may just be my truck door cavity carries the low notes better than other car doors.) Of course the highs and mids are very good, which is pretty much a given for most Polk speakers and why I chose these in the first place. I bought some pioneer 6.5" speakers for half the price of the Polks to put in the rear just for fill and they sound crappy compared with the Polks. If I had to do it again I would probably get another pair of Polks for the rear, but oh well. That's what you get for trying to save money. Overall they are a great sounding co-axial speaker and worth the price. They are probably about as good as it gets for this configuration unless you step up to component speakerI would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a well performing speaker in this price range.

    This past weekend I replaced all 4 door speakers in our 2013 Kia Sportage with these units, and the improvement was definitely more than I anticipated. My wife is no audiophile, but she immediately noted the brighter and crisper treble, as well as the tighter, deeper, and more accurate bass response. With the 2013 Sportage, you do NOT have to use the "slim" versions of these speakers, and the factory head unit has more than enough power to drive them.

    Clear precise sound is my opinion of this product. A driver of this size is not capable of delivering a lot of bass, but neither is any other driver of this size. If you want bass you need to buy an apropriate subwoofer. As to the value, I cite the law of diminishing returns. You would have to spend a lot more for an incremental inrease in quality.

    Installed these in a 2008 GMC Sierra. They play louder with less distortion than stock speakers and the musical details are more pronounced. Cleaner sound with tighter bass response. Not more bass than stock but better bass than stock. Overall I'm pleased with the speakers. This was step one. Next will be the head unit and a JL Audio Stealthbox to complete the audio overhaul.

    I placed the speakers in my Harley Davidson motorcycle to replace the stock ones, and what a big difference. I thought I would need an amp but I didn't. The factory speakers were the problem, my radio just had to be unleased.

    Big fan of Polk, been using Polk speakers for years not one complaint. Bought these DB651 s for use in a boat (they are marine certified) and they sound great. I have two pair of these with a 4 channel 400 watt amp and they are great, even good bass for what/where they are
