Sound great and fit my 1981 Mercedes 300D even thought it said it wouldnt. Just had to moung from below to clear the factory speaker cover. Was easy to mount only one extra mounting hole was needed.

Nice sound. They don't quite fit in the dash of 92 C1500, so if you are looking
for a perfect fit you don't want these. They fit well except the stock covers
touch.

going in with 2006 Grand cherokee limited with boston acoustics system,

and I came out with two BA S35's that were louder and crisper then the older speakers.


I recommend this for anyone who is looking for an easy fit in a 2005-2010 grand cherokee.

Perfect fit in a 2003 Saab 9-3 Arc

The sound from the dash speakers on my 2003 Saab 9-3 Arc has always been a little
muddy, so I finally swapped out the OEM Pioneer speakers for Boston Acoustics S35s.
The Pioneers are two piece units with separate tweeters, but the S35s fit perfectly in
place of the mids. The only difficulty I had with the installation was finding a torx driver
that was short enough to clear the windshield when removing and reinstalling the
screws. This was an easy, inexpensive, "I wish had done it years ago" mod.

The S35s are much brighter and louder than the Pioneers ever were. I've had to turn the
bass on the system all the way up to balance them out, but the overall sound is much
more clean, clear and crisp than it ever was before. The muddiness is gone. The Saab's
OEM amp setup limits what you can do to the sound of the system without replacing or
bypassing them. This is definitely the "biggest bang for the buck" improvement you can
make to it.

I purchased these speakers recently and they sound great. I have them hooked up in my 84 Buick Grand National. The crutchfield car selector thing said that these speakers wouldn't fit without modification to the car. The speakers fit perfectly with NO modification and sound great with both the stock radio and an aftermarket head unit. I am very pleased with the clarity of the sound. I would recommend these speakers to a friend.

Bought these for a 2008 altima sedan (non-Bose) dash install. Replaced stock speakers with these and it made a big difference. I have an Alpine CDE-102 with the in-line amp KTP-445 installed. I added a bass blocker in-line to filter out some lower frequencies (< 800 Hz).

These were a definite improvement and brought my soundstage forward with increased clarity. Snares, drums and vocals are much clearer now and I even had to adjust my treble ranges down a bit (they are brighter than stock). They aren't shrill at all though, just clean. Better than my Infinity's I've had (which always sounded bright bordering on harsh). Highly recommended.

I bought these speakers for the dash of my 1983 Chevy truck. They fit, but modification to the supplied brackets will be required if you are using a new replacement dash pad. The speakers are thicker than the factory units, which causes interference with the dash pad making it not fit properly. I modified the brackets to make the speakers fit under them instead of on top. Problem solved. My dash pad fit like it was supposed to. The sound out of these little speakers is incredible, much better than I expected. Great buy.

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 7 speaker Infinity system. I bought these for the dash. It took me 15 minutes to install both front speakers. The Crutchfield installation master sheet made the install very easy and quick. As far as sound goes, they made my highs sound crisp and clear. I can hear sounds in soungs I didn't know were there. All this with the stock head unit and system. I highly reccomend these speakers for the price and performance. My advisor Paul reccomended these and they didn't dissapoint. Thanks Crutchfield!!

I installed these in my Saab 900SE dashboard about a week ago and I love them. They fit under the speaker grilles and don't touch.

These are my second Boston Acoustics. I put 4" ones in the dashboard of my old Saab and they sounded so good that when I bought a newer Saab I bought 3.5" ones for this dash . Just like the 4" ones they sound great. Nice and clear sound to fill in the mids that the larger speakers leave out. Highs are nice and not piercing. I put in bass blockers for the 3.5's. I did not have them on the 4's. I don't think they're 100% necessary, but they are a nice $10 insurance policy. They keep the speaker from trying to pound out bass and the sound seems to be a little more clear because of it. I did a side by side comparison with and without the bass blockers and they don't make a huge difference; but for loud volumes (i.e. driving windows down on the highway) they are worth it to protect your speakers I think.

Overall, great speakers by Boston Acoustics. I'm glad I purchased my second pair and I'd go back for a third pair if I needed to. 10 out of 10.

Great replacement for Saab 9-3

Although the fit guide says the BA S35 will not fit, it does! A call to a sales advisor showed that it is supposedly 1/100th of an inch too big. I and many other find this to be incorrect - fits just fine!
And it is a huge upgrade over the stock dash speakers in a 9-3 Saab - even the mid-tweeter Pioneer separates in the upgraded system. Much more clarity and "presence".
Too bad Crutchfield hasn't done any research on the installation for Saab's - you get very generic instructions. I might replace the hatch speakers as well if I can find out how to remove the panel without causing damage!

Purchased to put in the dash of my PT Cruiser. Very pleased with the sound quality and the overall quality of the speakers. Have everything under 100Hz filtered out and these perform beautifully. Excellent, clear highs, and good mid-range. They are a great value for the dollar and worth more. This is a very nice, high quality prodcut.

These were the first set of Bostons I've owned. I've been loyal to Polk and Infinity for many years now but after all the raving reviews I decided to give these a try.

I was sadly disapointed by the sound quality. Most vocals sound really good, and it is true that the highs are not ear pearcing. The problem lies at higher volumes. As volume increases, the woofer responds beautifully, while the tweeter responds at a slower rate. I tried raising the treble and decreasing the mid. This only worked at the lower volumes. I'm not into ear piercing highs, but I do demand that a speaker sound the same at all different volume levels. The bottom line is that the tweeter needs refining. Needless to say, I'm going back to Polk.

By the way, the speakers never distorted. They are realatively good speakers, but not on the same level as, say, Polk or Infinity.
