The Lower East Side Audio Dock Air is as smart and sophisticated as its New York City namesake. This sleek black box doesn't need to have a lot of ugly cables and buttons sprouting from it. Don't think you have to trade audio quality for wireless convenience. The LES Audio Dock Air is compact but powerful. The system features two 3/4" dome tweeters to produce high frequencies with clarity, and two 3" midrange woofers that deliver accurate, detailed sound. Two 4" passive bass radiators reinforce the low end. With the LES system, your music will sound full and natural.

Apple AirPlay lets you link compatible systems together and control them all from a single source. So you could have a Lower East Side Audio Dock Air in your bedroom, another in your kitchen, and a third in your living room — all playing that great tune from your iPhone. And AirPlay lets you adjust the volume separately for each unit, so that song can play softly in the bedroom, while blasting out in the kitchen.

    Lower East Side Audio Dock Air: The Audyssey Lower East Side Audio Dock Air is a self-powered speaker with Air-Play technology that lets you stream music wirelessly from your computer, iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad.  The Audyssey Audio Dock Air pairs the uncompressed streaming capability of Airplay with Audyssey's sound technologies so you hear rich, clear, detailed, and balanced sound. Whether you want to play music stored on your computer, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or your favorite internet radio station like Pandora or Spotify, the Audyssey Audio Dock Air can play it with AirPlay wireless streaming.

    Audyssey Smart Speaker Technology: The Audyssey Lower East Side Audio Dock Air employs Audyssey Smart Speaker Technology for distortion-free, powerful, and precise sound. Audyssey Smart Speaker Technology even maintains balanced sound at low volumes.

    2-Way Speaker System: The Audyssey Audio Dock Air employs four custom-designed drivers. There are two 0.75" tweeters for crisp, detailed highs and two 3" midrange speakers for clear, accurate midrange sound.

    Passive Radiator Design: The Audyssey Audio Dock Air is designed with two 4" passive bass radiators and Audyssey's proprietary technology to play deeper bass. Audyssey redefines low frequency reproduction by not boosting the bass and distorting the sound, but by actually enhancing the performance of the driver to give you deeper bass sound.

    AirPlay Wireless Streaming: The Audyssey Lower East Side Audio Dock Air is a fully-integrated AirPlay speaker, so you can enjoy your entire iTunes library in any room, any time. AirPlay lets you stream all your music wirelessly from your computer, iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to the Audyssey Audio Dock Air.  

    Note: The AirPlay feature is easy to set up & use with virtually any wireless (WiFi) computer network, including WPS-protected systems. The Audyssey Audio Dock Air supports 802.11b/g WiFi networks.

    iTunes Streaming: AirPlay technology gives you wireless remote access to your entire iTunes 10.1 music collection and Internet radio with full navigation and playback control from your computer (Mac/PC) and iPod touch, iPhone, iPad (iOS 4.2 or later), via Apple's free Remote app.

    • Mac or Windows Computer: You will need a Mac or Windows-based PC running iTunes (10.1 or later) connected to the same wireless (WiFi) network in order to stream your iTunes music collection to the Audyssey Audio Dock Air.
    • Apple's Free Remote App: You can download Apple's free Remote app from the App Store and control your iTunes library and the Audyssey AirPlay speaker wirelessly from your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad (connected to the same WiFi network). You get to pick your next song with Play, Pause, Skip, Shuffle, and Repeat functions; along with volume control. The Apple Remote app is compatible with iPod touch (2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPhone (3GS/4/4S), and iPad (1/2); with iOS 4.2 or later installed.

    Apple Device Streaming: AirPlay also lets you wirelessly stream music and music apps stored on your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to the Audio Dock Air. Apple device streaming is supported by iPod touch (2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPhone (3GS/4/4S), and iPad (1/2) with iOS 4.2 or later; connected to the same wireless network.

    Multi-room Configuration: You can link multiple Audio Dock Air speakers for a multi-room audio system.

    Auxiliary Input: The Audyssey Audio Dock Air features a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting an external audio device with a standard 3.5mm audio output or headphone jack

    Headphone Output: There is a front-panel 3.5mm headphone jack for connection of a set of headphones. The speaker's audio will be muted when a set of headphones is connected.

    USB Port: There is a bottom-panel USB (type-A) port for future upgrades.

    Great sound quality. Impossible to use.

    This has the best sound quality if any speaker I've ever heard. BUT it simply does not work! The airplay worked perfectly for about 2 months, now every few seconds the music stops playing then a minute later it starts playing again. If your looking for sound quality; this is your choice. Also the airplay doesn't work with some routers. If you're looking for airplay convenience I suggest something else.

    Unbelievable sound quality.
    Cons:
    Airplay pauses then starts again a minute later. Airplay only works with some routers.

    I love the Audyssey Lower East Side Audio speaker system. I placed it in a toom where there is a lack of enough pwer - Plus the fact that I didn't need to run and manage cables makes it a plus. And the speakers sound great for such a small size,

    I put this in our wine room. rich sound and good aesthetics but AirPlay streaming a little spotty when streaming from phone. works fine when streaming from computer so recommend that if you are going to listen to more than one or two songs you should do it from a pc/Mac.

    Easy setup. Great sound.
    Cons:
    There is a bit of delay when sending AirPlay content. It takes about 10-15 seconds for it to start playing. Compair that to the 1-2 seconds of the Apple TV.

    Best sound I've ever heard on an iPod speaker in my life. But I am currently having a problem setting up the airplay and I think its just my router.

    After using buying and using the Bose Soundlink Wireless Mobile which is great bluetooth solution I decided to take the AirPlay plunge with this unit. This Audyssey fills a room whereas you really know where the Bose is placed. The use of WiFi really helps with the range. I don't have to worry about wandering around the house and dropping the signal. The only strange thing you have to get use to with AirPlay is an initial lag in the sound starting (buffer?). Everything sounds great on the unit. Be aware the iPhone 4S has an AirPlay issue which drops the signal whereas I have never had trouble with an iPad.

    Just received my shipment of two Audyssey Lower East Side Audio Dock Air. (Excellent packaging). This is not a typical dock as you cannot "dock" your ipod with the unit but you can plug in an ipod or other player through the jack in the back of the unit. The real reason to buy this unit is the Airplay feature that works with iTunes and allows you to put the unit anywhere there is an electrical outlet and within range of your wifi network. Airplay setup was simple and I was able to control all my iTunes music from my iPhone and from my daughter's iPod as well as from my main iMac. Bottom line is that it sounded great after I adjusted the equalizer within iTunes to tame some of the bass and drop the high frequencies a bit in my room (all tile floor). I have owned the B&W Zeppelin and while this unit does not have as accurate and punchy bass it is surprising in the amount of bass that is created from such a small, discreet package (unlike the B&W Zeppelin which will be a prominent feature of any room due to it's shape, size and chrome accent). The sound is very nice on the Audyssey and it is more than enough to fill a fairly large room as it fills my living room that is approximately 16ftx25ft. You can also have multiple units set up and control the volume separately for each.
    Pros:
    Easy airplay setup, Excellent and warm sound after adjusting the iTunes equalizer, can easily fill a fairly large room (25ft x 16ft) with music.
    Cons:
    Had to adjust iTunes equlizer to get the sound just right in my room (tile floors).
