Features
Two-Way Design: The Klipsch R-2502-W in-wall speaker employs dual 5.25" polypropylene woofer
cones for accurate sound with dynamic detail, while a silk dome tweeter mated to
a symmetrical pattern 90 x 90 conical horn generates flat in-room frequency
response with high efficiency and low distortion. The speaker's precision voiced
crossover networks further ensure that the high and low frequencies are
faithfully reproduced.
Basket/Frame: The R-2502-W has a sturdy ABS basket and frame. The
frame can be painted to match any decor (a clear paint mask is supplied to
protect the drivers from overspray). The aluminum mesh grille is also paintable.
Spring-Post Terminals: The Klipsch R-2502-W in-wall speaker features
two spring-post terminals which will accept bare speaker wire, pin-connectors,
or banana plugs (single/dual). The spring-post speaker terminals are color-coded (red/black)
for easy identification between positive and negative.
Power Specifications Note: The manufacturer has specified the maximum
power handling of this speaker as 60 watts RMS (240 W Peak). Klipsch has also
published a recommended amplifier power specification as 110 watts. For the
purpose of matching the speaker with the best amplifier, Crutchfield is listing
the power specification as 110 watts.
Mounting Options
Installation: The speaker can be installed in new or existing
construction. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally. It requires a cutout of
6.5" (w) x 16.4375" (h), with a mounting
depth of 3.25". For new construction,
purchase of the IK-502-W installation kit (714IK502W) is highly recommended. For
existing construction, the speaker should be installed in drywall at least 3/8"
thick. A cardboard template
is included to assist you in making the cutout.
IR Knockout: A 1/2" diameter knockout panel is provided in
the lower left hand corner of the speaker frame for installing an IR sensor.
