Features
Overview: The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20 is a two-piece
television entertainment enhancement system. It consists of a self-powered
soundbar that can be placed above or below the TV, and a matching wireless-powered subwoofer. The TVee Model 20 offers dramatically better sound quality than your flat-panel
HDTV's built-in speakers. There is only one cable which connects the system to
your television and you can control it with your TV's remote. The Boston
Acoustics TVee Model 20 is perfectly sized for TVs 32-inches and up.
Soundbar: The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20 soundbar is equipped with
dual 1-1/2" x 6" HHRT (Hyperbolic High-Rigidity Tranducer) drivers inside a
bass-reflex enclosure made of ABS plastic. The TVee Model 20's soundbar is
perfectly sized for TV screens of 32" or more. It is designed to be centered
with the television's screen. It can be placed in front of the TV, or on a shelf
right above if the TV is housed in a cabinet. There are two large keyhole slots
to facilitate mounting it on a wall. The soundbar is equipped with a black cloth
removable grille.
Wireless Subwoofer: The wireless-powered subwoofer is equipped with a
down-firing
6" woofer inside a bass-reflex enclosure with a downfiring 2.25" (diameter)
port. The wireless subwoofer's enclosure is made of ABS and has been internally braced with MDF to eliminate resonance. The TVee Model 20's bass unit gets its signal from
the soundbar wirelessly (2.4 GHz), so it can be placed virtually anywhere in the
room (up to 25').
80 Watt System Power: The soundbar and wireless subwoofer are
self-powered and each are equipped with its own built-in amplifier. The TVee
Model 20 features a total system power of 80 watts to drive both the soundbar
and wireless subwoofer.
3D Sound Processing Circuitry: The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20
features 3D sound processing circuitry for exciting three-dimensional sound that
you cannot get from simply your TV's built-in speakers.
One Connection: All the TVee Model 20 needs is a stereo audio signal
fed into the soundbar (40" stereo RCA cable included). You can get this signal from
your TV's audio output, or from your satellite or cable box (the soundbar also
requires AC power). The powered
subwoofer gets its signal wirelessly (2.4 GHz) from the soundbar; it only
requires plugging into an AC outlet.
Wireless ID Switches: Both the soundbar and subwoofer have wireless ID
switches, The various switch settings (1-4) change frequency of the wireless
signal the soundbar sends to the subwoofer. The two switches must be set to the
same position.
Simple Controls: The soundbar has three top-mounted controls: Power,
Mute, and Volume Up/Down. If the input signal from your TV or cable box is
variable, the TVee Model 20's sound will vary when you change the volume using
the TV or Cable Box remote. If the input signal is a constant level, you can
"teach" the TVee Model 20 to respond to your TV's remote control. The
wireless subwoofer also features a rear-panel independent volume control.
Trim Level Switch: The soundbar's trim-level switch changes the input
sensitivity (1-3) of the TV Model 20 to match the output level of your TV or
satellite/cable box.
Auto Power: The power switches on the back of the soundbar and
subwoofer can be left on. The TVee Model 20 has an automatic power standby
system. After about 15 minutes of inactivity, the built-in amplifiers shut down.
As soon as a signal is applied to the inputs of the TVee Model 20, the
integrated amplifiers turn on again.
