The speakers have 4 tabs with a hole in each for mounting, as pictured. When you receive the speakers they also have a bracket that fits over the speakers with multiple holes to fit many brands of cars (not pictured). The multi-car bracket that fits over the speaker has a set of holes that lined up perfectly with my 1989 Pontiac Bonneville. However, the piece of metal that makes the outer edge of the hole in the tab on the speaker itself O) <---- Covers up the perfect-fit hole exactly. I had to cut the speaker tabs off with a hacksaw to get them to fit correctly. On top of that, these replacement speakers are about 3/8" taller than the stock speakers were, so they wouldn't just sit correctly in the hole. They rested on the AC duct under the dash in the perfectly-centered position and wouldn't lay flat, so now I have a pair of butchered, off-center speakers in the front dash of my car. The only thing keeping me from giving this review 1 star is that the speakers sound good, but all my buddies at the mill I work at told me, "Go Crutchfield! They have painless installation and everything just fits perfect all the time." So I expected the Crutchfield brand speakers to fit. And they didn't. I put them in and they fit but I only had them in for two weeks and my right speaker is broke. I don't even listen to my music loud. I am going to send them back to get a exchange on a new set. These speakers sound great and were an easy install into my 1983 BMW 320. The hardest part was fixing the work from the previous speaker installation which was done by a well-known national car audio company. 2 out of 5 Very Poor Fit Written By Chuck, Blacksburg, VA on Friday, August 13, 2010 Installed in a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) The speakers have 4 tabs with a hole in each for mounting, as pictured. When you receive the speakers they also have a bracket that fits over the speakers with multiple holes to fit many brands of cars (not pictured). The multi-car bracket that fits over the speaker has a set of holes that lined up perfectly with my 1989 Pontiac Bonneville. However, the piece of metal that makes the outer edge of the hole in the tab on the speaker itself O) <---- Covers up the perfect-fit hole exactly. I had to cut the speaker tabs off with a hacksaw to get them to fit correctly. On top of that, these replacement speakers are about 3/8" taller than the stock speakers were, so they wouldn't just sit correctly in the hole. They rested on the AC duct under the dash in the perfectly-centered position and wouldn't lay flat, so now I have a pair of butchered, off-center speakers in the front dash of my car. The only thing keeping me from giving this review 1 star is that the speakers sound good, but all my buddies at the mill I work at told me, "Go Crutchfield! They have painless installation and everything just fits perfect all the time." So I expected the Crutchfield brand speakers to fit. And they didn't. We'll see how they hold up to the test of time, but so far they are amazing. Fit perfect, on a 77' Bimmer...rare. And they also work amazing with the old wiring.
