Features

Woofer: The SR65s are equipped with copolymer woofer cones and butyl rubber surrounds. Each woofer is has a neodymium magnet, which has a high power-to-weight ratio and a compact size about one-tenth the size of traditional iron-ferrite magnets. The dual-stage aluminum heat sink is integrated into the motor structure to draw heat away from the voice coil increasing the power handling capability.

Tweeter: Each speaker has a 1" Kortec soft-dome tweeter for a smooth high frequency response and linearity. Kortec is a specially engineered material with the rigidity of a composite dome and the smoothness and detailed response of cloth. The contoured SR tweeter planes delivers superior on- and off-axis high frequency response compared to traditional coaxial designs.

Crossover: Located behind the tweeter, the multi-element 2-way crossover delivers component level performance.

VariMount: The Boston SR65s come with several mounting adapters, making it possible to drop the speakers into the most common factory locations. Both 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" adapters and 7⁄16" spacers are included.

Speaker Terminals: These speakers have 0.25" positive (+) terminals and 0.187" negative (-) terminals, which are too large for the vehicle-specific speaker harnesses supplied by Crutchfield for many vehicle applications. It is recommended that a pack of assorted female quick slides (item # 263FQS10PK) be purchased and spliced to the harnesses to adapt them to the speaker terminals.
