Overview: The Yamaha YID-W10 is a wireless dock system designed for
Apple iPod & iPhone. The YID-W10 employs the Yamaha "yAired" technology to
establish a wireless connection with another Yamaha dock-compatible component.
This wireless connection lets you enjoy iPod/iPhone audio through your
compatible Yamaha A/V receiver while viewing cover-art, watching videos, or
playing games on your iPod/iPhone screen. The YID-W10 consists of a wireless
iPod/iPhone dock transmitter and a receiver base.
iPod/iPhone Dock Transmitter: The YID-W10's iPod/iPhone dock
transmitter (YIT-11TX) features an Apple dock-connector to connect your
compatible iPod or iPhone. The iPod/iPhone dock transmitter wirelessly transmits
your iPod/iPhone's audio to your compatible A/V receiver which is connected to
the YID-W10's receiver base. The iPod/iPhone dock transmitter also lets you
control volume of your A/V receiver.
Receiver Base: The YID-W10's receiver base (YIR-W10) features an
attached 42" cable terminated by a proprietary connector which plugs into your
compatible Yamaha A/V receiver's Dock-port. The receiver base wirelessly
receives audio from your docked iPod/iPhone for playback through your connected
Yamaha A/V receiver. The receiver base also charges your docked iPod/iPhone when
the iPod/iPhone dock transmitter is inserted into the base.
yAired: yAired is a proprietary Yamaha wireless technology which uses
a 2.4 GHz frequency with a range up to approximately 66-feet. yAired offers many wireless audio
benefits, such as:
- Simple, convenient operation (unlike Bluetooth products, no pairing is
needed)
- Wireless operation; remote control with auto power on and volume control
(from iPod/iPhone)
- Enjoy superior sound quality; uncompressed wireless audio transmission
(linear PCM)
- Real-time communication with audio/video synchronization
High Quality Sound: The Yamaha YID-W10 uses lossless (compressed)
signal transmission to achieve high-quality wireless sound with strong, rich,
and dynamic bass.
Audio/Video Synchronization: The YID-W10 provides perfect
synchronization between sound and video when watching movies on your iPod or
iPod.
Yamaha Receiver Compatibility: The YID-W10's receiver base plugs into
the dock port on the rear-panel of your compatible Yamaha A/V receiver. The

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change
functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may
need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If
this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is
available.
Auto Connection: The YID-W10 automatically turns on your compatible
Yamaha A/V receiver and changes to the Dock input when you insert your iPod or
iPhone into the transmitter dock.
Note: The transmitter stops wireless communication automatically
after iPod/iPhone playback has been stopped for a short period of time.
Receiver Volume Control: The Yamaha YID-W10 lets you control your
compatible Yamaha A/V receiver's volume through the docked iPod/iPhone while
listening to your iPod/iPhone's content.
iPod/iPhone Charging: The Yamaha YID-10 charges your Apple iPod/iPhone
when you dock your iPod/iPhone and the connected wireless transmitter into the
system's base station.
Multi-Zone Listening: The YID-W10 is designed to provide audio
listening in your compatible A/V receiver's main zone. If your Yamaha A/V
receiver supports multiple zone, the main zone must be turned on and listening
to the YID-W10 in order for it to work in an additional zone.
LED Indicators: The green LED on the transmitter dock and the blue LED
on the receiver base light up if a wireless connection between the transmitter
and receiver is established.
