CEA 2006 Compliant: The Rockford Fosgate R250-1 Prime's
power ratings are measured according to the strict standards dictated by the
Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards allow you to accurately
compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers, even if
they come from different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the standards can
display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging.
- 4-Ohm Mono: 150 watts RMS x 1-channel in 4-ohm @
20-130Hz with 1% THD
- 2-Ohm Mono: 250 watts RMS x 1-channel in 2-ohm @
20-130Hz with 1% THD
Note: The amplifier will operate in a 2-ohm load to power the
included preloaded subwoofer enclosure.
MOSFET Power: The Rockford R250-1 is equipped with a MOSFET
power supply and output stage for good sound, efficiency and dependability.
Controls: The Rockford Fosgate mono-channel amplifier is
equipped with the following controls.
- Gain Control: The amplifier's gain control is preset to
match the output of most source units. The gain control can be adjusted from
150mV to 8V.
- Low-Pass Crossover: The amplifier features a built-in
12dB/octave Butterworth low-pass filter with a crossover point variable from
40 to 130Hz.
- Phase: The phase switch allows you to select the output
phase of the amplifier between 0-degrees and 180-degrees to match the rest
of your vehicle's speaker system.
- Punch Bass: This is a Punch bass control on the
amplifier that is adjustable up to 12dB at a fixed 45Hz.
- Remote Punch Level Control: When the wired remote Punch
Level Control is connected to the R250-1, the gain control of the amplifier
is linked and allows you to remotely control the output level of the
amplifier from the dash or center console of your vehicle. The wired remote
Punch Level Control module features a rotary dial can comes supplied with
mounting hardware and a 16.5' connector cable.
Note: The amplifier's low-pass crossover can be set
between 40 to 130Hz to accommodate the included preloaded 12" subwoofer
enclosure.
Connections: The Rockford Fosgate R250-1 is equipped with the
following connections
- Power/Ground Terminals: The power and ground terminals
are nickel-plated screw terminals and will accommodate up to 4 AWG
power/ground wire (up to 1/2" spade or ring-style connector).
- Remote Turn-On Terminal: The remote turn-on terminal is
a nickel-plated screw terminal that will accommodate up to an 8 AWG wire (up
3/8" spade or ring-style connector). This terminal is used to remotely
turn-on and turn-off the amplifier when +12V DC is applied, when connected
to your headunit's remote turn-on lead. .
- Speaker Terminals: The amplifier is equipped with two
pairs of speaker terminals for an easy parallel subwoofer connection. The
four speaker terminals (left +/- and right +/-) are heavy duty,
nickel-plated screw-terminals what will accommodate up to 8 AWG speaker wire
(up to 3/8" spade or ring-style connectors).
- RCA Input Jacks: The industry standard RCA jacks
provide an easy connection for signal level input. They are nickel-plated to
resist signal degradation caused by corrosion.
- RCA Output Jacks: This pair of RCA pass-thru jacks
provide a convenient source for daisy-chaining an additional amplifier
without running an extra set of RCA cable from the front of your vehicle to
the rear amplifier location. They are nickel-plated to resist signal
degradation caused by corrosion.
- Punch Level Control: 3.5mm input for connecting the
supplied Punch Level Control module.
- Fuse: The amplifier is equipped with one installed
30-amp ATC fuse. The amplifier also comes supplied with a spare 30-amp
fuse.
Note: The amplifier only requires one set of speaker terminal
connections to the included preloaded subwoofer enclosure.
LED Indicators: The Rockford Fosgate amplifier is equipped
with two side-mounted LED indicators.
- Power LED: This LED illuminates green when the unit is
turned on.
- Protect LED: This LED illuminates red if a short
circuit or too low of an impedance is detected at the speaker connections.
The amplifier will automatically shut down if this occurs.
Mounting: The amplifier comes pre-mounted to the included
subwoofer enclosure.
Dual 12-inch
Preloaded Subwoofer Enclosure
Sealed Enclosure: The Rockford Fosgate Prime R1L-2X12
features a sealed enclosure constructed of 5/8" MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard).
The enclosure is covered with high density black carpeting.
Note: The included mono-channel amplifier is pre-mounted
to the back of this subwoofer enclosure.
Speaker Terminals: The sealed enclosure features high current
compression terminals on the left side of the box (when facing the woofers). The
enclosure's terminals will accommodate up to 12 AWG speaker wire. The two loaded
woofer's are wired in parallel to present a 2-ohm to the connected amplifier at
the enclosure's speaker terminals.
Dual Woofers: The R1L-2X12 features two loaded Rockford
Fosgate Prime R1S412 woofers. The Rockford Fosgate Prime R1S412 is a 12-inch,
4-ohm single voice coil subwoofer. The Rockford Fosgate Prime subwoofer features
a solid stamped steel frame, quick-release compression terminals, and a
Parabolic polypropylene cone. The Prime R1S412 subwoofer is optimized for sealed
enclosures.
- Parabolic Polypropylene Cone Design: The Parabolic
Polypropylene cone design results in solid bass reproduction.
- Aluminum Voice Coils: The Rockford Fosgate Prime
subwoofer uses anodized aluminum voice coil formers that provide excellent
heat dissipation. The woofer's aluminum voice coils keep the speaker running
cool, even under demanding conditions. Unlike traditional plastic
substitutions, aluminum acts like a heat-sink to quickly dissipate thermal
build-up on the voice coil. This keeps subwoofers cool during high SPL
conditions.
- Stamped Steel Basket: The R1S412 subwoofer features a
stamped steel basket for added rigidity.
- Compression Terminals: The Prime R1S412 features spring
post terminals which accommodate up to 12 AWG speaker wire.
- CEA-2031 Compliant: Power handling on the Rockford
Fosgate Prime R1S412 subwoofer conforms to CEA-2031 industry standards. This
means the subwoofer has the capacity to handle power under continuous
demand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice
coils.
