About the Dual XDMA6370
There's a certain beauty in simplicity — all you want is a car stereo that can play songs from your iPod, from a CD, or from flash memory. Dual's XDMA6370 receiver is a no-frills car stereo that keeps on cranking out your tunes reliably, but it's got a few extras that may surprise you at this price.
Enjoy lots of ways to play your digital music
Here's what you expect: plug in your iPod® or iPhone® to the front-panel USB slot, and you can use the receiver's controls to pick out a perfect driving tune. You'll also find a front-panel auxiliary input, great for quickly connecting a wide range of devices.
But here's a surprise: hidden behind the detachable faceplate is an SD™ card slot. You can load up an inexpensive SD card (check that old digital camera you're not using — there might be one just sitting in there) with MP3 and WMA files, so your old favorites are always with you if you leave your iPod at home. Another surprise: you'll find a pair of RCA inputs on the back of the receiver that serve as a second auxiliary input. That's a grand total of four ways to play your tunes with the XDMA6370, not too shabby.
Oh, yeah — the XDMA6370 will also play your CDs, even those you've loaded with piles of MP3 and WMA files. That's five ways to play your tunes! Again, not too shabby.
Tweaking your sound
You can tweak the bass and treble on the fly, or dive into one of the receiver's six preset EQ settings. Dual equips the XDMA6370 with two sets of preamp outputs, making it easier to add amps and subs to your audio system. You can switch the rear outputs to subwoofer mode when you add a sub, so you can adjust the bass level with the receiver's controls.
Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Dual stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Dual, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Overview: The Dual XDMA6370 CD Receiver features a built-in AM/FM tuner and offers playback of CD-Audio and CD-R/RW discs. The Dual CD receiver includes a front-panel USB port and auxiliary input for connecting your portable MP3 player, USB thumbdrive, or iPod/iPhone. In addition, there is an SD-card slot located behind the unit's detachable face. The headunit supports playback of MP3/WMA audio files recorded on to a CD-R/RW disc, SD-card, or USB memory device. For added convenience, the CD receiver includes an IR wireless remote control and offers OEM steering wheel control capability (optional adapter required). The Dual XDMA6370 is equipped with a MOSFET 60W x 4ch (Peak) amplifier and two sets of preamp outputs (Front & Rear/SW).

Detachable Face: The Dual CD Receiver features a detachable face-plate and comes supplied with a hard-plastic carrying case to store the receiver's face when detached. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.
Note: An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can also be purchased for this unit.
LCD Display: The XMDA6370 features a 10 character, blue/white dot-matrix type LCD display for easy viewing during the day or nighttime.
Text Scroll: The XDMA6370 will display CD-Text and ID3/WMA tags. You can choose to have this information scroll across the unit's screen continuously, ever 15 seconds, or only once. You can all choose to turn the text scroll function off.
12/24 Hour Clock: The unit's built-in clock will display 12-hour AM/PM time in USA frequency spacing mode. In European frequency spacing mode, the clock will display 24-hour time.
Note: You can configure the headunit's clock to display even when the unit is turned off.
Display Dimmer: The headunit's display features three illumination dimmer settings to choose from; you can select Hi, Med, or Low.
Audio Section
MOSFET Amplifier: The Dual XDMA6370 is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.
CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the XDMA6370 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the XDMA6370 are as follows:
- CEA2006 Specs: 18 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
- Maximum Power Output: 60 watts x 4 channels (240 watts total)
Preset EQ Curves: The Dual CD Receiver features the following preset EQ curves to customize your music listening - Pop, Jazz, Classic, Beat, Rock, and Flat.
Bass And Treble: The Bass and Treble can be independently adjusted from -6 to +6. Bass and Treble settings are retained for each mode individually. Any adjustments to the Bass or Treble settings automatically cancel the current EQ curve.
Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high frequency sound ranges at low volume, by increasing the bass & treble.
Switchable Preamp Outputs: The XMD6370 is equipped with two sets of preamp outputs (Front, Rear/Sub). The unit's rear-channel can be used as a full-range preamp output with fade control or as a non-fading subwoofer preamp output.
Subwoofer Control: When the unit's Rear/Sub preamp output is configured for a subwoofer, you can adjust the subwoofer preamp output independently from 0-12. Adjusting the subwoofer level to 0 turns the subwoofer output off.
Programmable Turn-On Volume: You can program the unit to turn on at a specific volume (1-46).
Source Volume Level: The Source Volume Level control allows a gain adjustment for each audio source (AM/FM, CD, AUX Front/Rear, & iPod/USB). You can set the source volume level (-/+6) for each mode, depending on the relative volume of each audio source.
Beep Confirmation: The in-dash headunit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.
Radio Functions
AM/FM Tuner: The Dual XDMA6370 features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning.
Preset Tuning: The built-in AM/FM tuner allows you to store up to 18 FM station presets and 12 AM station presets. That's a total of 30 AM/FM station presets. You can store these presets manual or have the headunit store them automatically.
Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception.
Disc/SD-card Playback
Disc Compatibility: The Dual XDMA6370 headunit supports playback of CD-Audio, CD-Text, CD-R, and CD-RW discs.
MP3/WMA Playback: The headunit also supports MP3 and WMA file playback on CD-R and CD-RW discs. MP3 and WMA files must be recorded in the following formats - ISO9660 Level 1/2 or Yellow Book Mode 1/2. The headunit supports MP3 files with a bit rate of 32-320 kbps and WMA files with a bit rate of 32-192 kbps. The XDMA6370 can recognize up to 256 folders and files (maximum of 8 folders levels). The unit also supports ID3/WMA tags (ver.1.0-2.0) for the display of song title and artist name (up to 30 characters).
ESP (Electronic Skip Protection): An internal buffer provides ESP (Electronic Skip Protection) to virtually eliminate skipping during playback of CD-R/RW discs with MP3/WMA audio files.
SD-Card Slot: The Dual XDMA6370 features an SD-card slot located behind the unit's detachable face-plate. The headunit's face-plate must be detached to insert or eject an SD card. The XDMA6370 supports playback of MP3 (32-320 kbps) and WMA (32-192 kbps) audio files stored on a SD-card (up to 16GB) in FAT or FAT32 file system. The XDMA6370 can recognize up to 127 folders and 382 filers per folder (a maximum of 48,896 files). The unit also supports ID3/WMA tags (ver.1.0-2.0) for the display of song title and artist name (up to 30 characters).
Playback Modes: The XDMA6370 offers Intro, Repeat, and Random playback modes.
- Intro: Plays the first 10 seconds of each track on a disc/SD-card or in a folder.
- Repeat: Repeats a selected track of a disc/SD-card, or all tracks in a selected folder.
- Random: Plays all tracks on a disc/SD-card or in a selected folder in random order.
USB/iPod/Aux Connectivity
USB Port: The Dual XDMA6370 is equipped with a front-panel USB (type-A port) for playback of MP3/WMA files stored on a USB mass storage device formatted to the FAT or FAT32 file system. The XDMA6370 can recognize up to 48,896 files (127 folders/382 files per folder). The headunit's USB port supports MP3 files with a bit rate of 32-320 kbps and WMA files with a bit rate of 32-192 kbps. The unit's USB port will also display ID3/WMA tag (ver.1.0-2.0) for display of song title and artist name. The XDMA6370 offers the following playback features for MP3/WMA USB files - Play/Pause, Folder Access, File Select, Fast Forward/Reverse, Skip (Next/Previous), Repeat/Random, and Intro Scan. The unit's USB port will also charge your USB device during playback.
iPod/iPhone Direct: The Dual XDMA6370 features a direct USB control system for your iPod or iPhone. To play music from your iPod/iPhone device, connect the USB/Dock cable (included with your iPod/iPhone) to the XDMA6370's front-panel USB port. Playback will begin automatically. If a song is playing on the iPod/iPhone before it is connected, it will continue to play.
- Music Control: You can search your iPod/iPhone's music from the XDMA6370 by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Audiobook, or Podcast. The headunit also supports Play/Pause, Fast Forward/Reverse, Skip (Next/Previous), Intro, and Repeat/Random playback functions for your iPod/iPhone. In addition, you can choose to control your iPod/iPhone from its clickwheel or touchscreen.
- Information Display: The Dual XDMA6370 will display track number, elapsed playing time, song title, artist name, and album label.
- Battery Charging: While connected and the ignition switch is set to ACC or ON, the headunit's USB connection will power and charge your iPod/iPhone.
Note: If your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it.

Dual Auxiliary Inputs: The XDMA6370 is equipped with two auxiliary inputs. The unit features a front-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for temporary connection of an external portable audio device, such as a portable MP3 player. The unit also features a rear-panel stereo RCA auxiliary input for permanent connection of an external audio device, such as an overhead monitor/DVD system.
Note: You can turn the unit's auxiliary inputs On or Off within the menu system.
Remote Control
Wireless Remote Control: The XDMA6370 comes supplied with an 18-button IR wireless remote control which provides complete control of the Dual CD Receiver. The remote operates off of a single CR2025 3V lithium battery (included).
Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The headunit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit to allow you to keep your vehicle's radio steering wheel remote controls when used with the optional PAC SWI-PS Steering Wheel Control Interface Adapter (127SWIPS, sold separately); or the optional Metra ASWC Steering Wheel Control Interface Adapter (120ASWC, sold separately).
