Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Used these in my 2010 Challenger when I replaced my factory speakers. The slip on connectors where a little small for my Rockford Fosgate speakers so I clipped them off and soldered them on to the terminals.

I contemplated clipping off the factory connectors and crimping on spade connectors but, I was somewhat concerned about inadvertently reversing the polarity of the speaker wires as well as permanently altering the factory wiring. Then I found this adapter on the Crutchfield website - - I ordered it on a Wednesday night - - it arrived Friday morning! The installation was way too easy - - I installed both speakers in 15 minutes!!

No way, no how, could I get the separate wires to connect to my speaker connecters. I tried to open the harness connecter with a screwdriver only to find out they still won't work.

The plugs on our adapters are smaller than the unusually large terminals on the Boston Acoustics speakers. There are two ways to solve this problem: either splice a small section of the wire supplied with the speakers onto the end of each adapter, or crimp larger plugs onto the adapters.
