Made for "Commercial Drivers": The Magellan RoadMate
Commercial 9270T-LM is designed with commercial drivers in mind. It is designed
to help commercial drivers get to and from their destinations efficiently while
making reporting simple and the days work more productive. This unit is packed
with truck-specific features to make driving for commercial truck drivers
easier, less stressful, and more productive. It has an extra- large 7"
high-definition touchscreen display and an external Audio/Video input for backup
cameras, iPods or DVD players. Features include truck speed limit warnings,
customizable truck-specific routes, and millions of truck Points of Interests
such as truck stops.
Vehicle Profile: You can set your vehicle profile so that
when routes are being calculated you will not be routed over roads that your
vehicle cannot travel on. You can set the following vehicle parameters.
- Vehicle Type: Choose from Class A, Class B, Class C,
Class C Super, RV/Truck with 1 or more trailers, Truck Camper, Semi/Tractor
with 1 or more trailers.
- Dimensions: Enter Width, Height, Total Length, and
Weight.
- Hazmat Type: Choose from None, Explosives, Gas,
Flammable, Flammable Solid/Combustible, Organic, Poison, Radioactive,
Corrosive, Any Hazardous Material, Poisonous Inhalation Hazard, Harmful to
Water, or Other
Information Dashboard: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM keeps you informed on
your driving, such as direction, elevation, and truck speed limits. The speed
limit warning turns red if you are driving higher than the posted truck speed
limit.
Logging Trip Information: With the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM, logging and retaining trip information
just got easier. With various truck specific features such as multiple driver
login, driving status reporting of hours and state mileage for IFTA fuel
logging, you can be sure you meet regulation guidelines. Conveniently export all
logs for reports of each trip.
Navigation Features
GPS Receiver: The Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM is equipped
with a WAAS/EGNOS-equipped GPS receiver. It receives tracking signals from
numerous satellites, updating your position once per second. This receiver
provides positioning accuracy down to 3 to 5 meters (10-16 feet).
- GPS Antenna: The portable navigation unit features an
integrated multidirectional GPS patch antenna adding to its sleek design. The first time you use the Magellan RoadMate it
may take up to 4 minutes to compute your location under normal conditions.
With adverse conditions (not having a clear view of the sky) the time to
compute your location the first time can increase.
- GPS Positioning: Setting a GPS position is useful if you are
not getting satellite information quickly because the Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM
has traveled over 500 miles while turned off. Setting the GPS position will
allow the unit to compute which satellites are available and calculate the
position quicker.
- GPS Status Screen: The GPS Status screen uses green bars to
indicate that the Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM is using certain GPS satellites to
compute the position. Orange bars indicate that the Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM is
trying to lock onto a satellite signal and no bar shown indicates a satellite
that is not being tracked. The longer the bars, the better the signal.
Note: Please note that the Magellan RoadMate receiver is
a receiver only and does not transmit GPS location signals. Neither the
receiver nor the vehicle can be tracked using the Magellan RoadMate
receiver.
Map Data: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM comes with detailed maps and
destinations of the United States (including Alaska & Hawaii), Canada, and
Puerto Rico, preloaded onto the built-in flash memory. Map upgrades are available for purchase from the
Magellan website (www.magellangps.com) using the Magellan Content Manager
and can be downloaded to the internal memory.
Free Lifetime Map Updates: The Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM
includes free lifetime map updates. Lifetime Maps entitles you to receive up to
four map updates per year, for the life of the GPS navigation unit or until
Magellan no longer receives relevant map data (whichever is shorter). An
Internet connection and Magellan's Content Manager software is required. The
updates will be the same geographic map data originally included with your
Magellan product. In some instances, the Magellan unit might not have sufficient
memory remaining for you to load an update, in which case you will need insert a
microSD card in order to expand memory. Lifetime Maps may not be transferred to
another person or another Magellan product.
7.0" Touchscreen Display: The unit features a large
anti-glare, 7.0" WQVGA touchscreen display which can be viewed horizontally or
vertically. The display's brightness can be
adjusted for easy nighttime and daytime viewing. With the Auto Night Mode, the
screen will automatically change from bright colors in daytime to dark tint
colors for nighttime use.
Map Screen: When a route has been calculated, it will be
displayed on the Map screen in green with small arrows indicating the direction
of travel. The top of the screen displays the name of the street that comes next
in your Turn List together with its distance. If you are not in the city in
which the next street is, the name of the city is displayed instead. As the
route progresses, voice alerts will be used to prompt you of upcoming maneuvers.
- Map View Options: The portable GPS unit allows you to
the following map views.
- 2D Map: Two dimensional view of map which displays
the top of the screen in either the direction of your heading or
direction pointing North.
- 3D Map: Three dimensional view of map which
displays the top of the screen in the direction of your heading.
- Map Screen Modes: There are two unique modes that the
Map Screen can be displayed in - Normal and Routing.
- Normal: In Normal mode, your position is shown on
the map along with the time and your speed. As you travel, your position
will be updated, giving you a clear view of your position and
surrounding streets.
- Routing: In Routing mode, additional information is
displayed, providing you with more detailed information about the route
you have selected. In the routing screen, you can view the name of the
current street, plus the street name for the next maneuver, POI icons,
and distance to next maneuver. You can toggle between the distance
remaining to reach your destination, approximate time remaining until
the destination is reached, and the approximate time of day to arrive at
your destination.
Note: You
can set the navigation unit's map to automatically zoom in to the lowest
level when coming up to a turn.
Highway Lane Assist w/ Junction View: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM will display
realistic images of highway
signs and arrows that guide you to the correct lane as you approach a highway
interchange, giving you a visual indication of which lane you should be in. This
makes driving on the highway a lot easier, safer, and less stressful.
Maneuver List (Itinerary): Each line of the Maneuver List screen
provides details about the maneuvers in the order that they are to be made. The bottom bar of the Maneuver List screen
indicates the distance and time to the next maneuver as well as the total
distance computed for the route. The Maneuver List can be modified if you want
to exclude one of the maneuvers to avoid traveling on one of the streets listed.
Current Location Screen: The Current Location screen
displays approximate address information, the distance from the next and
previous cross streets, as well as your latitude and longitude. There is
also a compass point in your direction of travel, calculated elevation and speed.
Text-to-Speech w/ Landmark Guidance: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM is equipped with
Text-to-Speech. As you navigate to your destination, the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM will
announce the names of the street and/or exit ramps that are
involved in each maneuver. With the all new Landmark Guidance, you receive
directions using landmarks as your guide, making it a more intuitive way to
navigate. You'll hear instructions like "In 200 feet, turn left at the Shell Gas
Station". You can activate the Smart Volume feature
which changes the volume automatically as your speed changes, compensating for
road noise. You can select English, French, or Spanish.
Note: The Magellan RoadMate can also sound an audible beep, bell,
or chime to notify you of an upcoming turn. You can turn this warning tone off,
if desired.
OneTouch Favorites Menu: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM features Magellan's
exclusive OneTouch favorites menu. The OneTouch menu provides quick access to
your home address, emergency services, gas stations and addresses or searches
you have stored to the OneTouch menu. The OneTouch Favorites menus also provides
instant access to your personalized bookmarks of favorite places & POIs.
6,000,000 Points Of Interest (POI): The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM offers
6-million
points of interests to help you easily find gas stations, restaurants, ATMs,
and more. You can search for POIs by entering the name or by selecting from
a list of available categories and sub-categories. If desired, you can
choose whether or not you want POI icons to be displayed on the map. Branded POIs display your favorite coffee
shops, restaurants, and more by their respective logos. Highway Exit POIs provide a listing of
restaurants, gas stations, auto repair shops or hotels near approaching
freeway exits.

Note: You can create a single stop trip, a multiple stop
trip, or daily trips.
QuickSpell w/ SmartCity Search: QuickSpell with SmartCity Search
narrows your address and city searches, making destination entry easy. To help
you make sure you enter in the correct destination, the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM will
automatically correct spelling errors and complete your destination address. QuickSpell with SmartCity search also uses information in the unit's database to
limit the keys that need to be pressed, presenting only those which can access
information in the database.
Customizable Route Method: There are a wide variety of
methods you can use to create a route. You can set the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM to
calculate your route by Fastest Time, Shortest Distance, Less Freeways or More
Freeways. You can also Enable U-Turns and Avoid Toll Roads for any routing
method. You can compare the travel times of each option on one screen.
Multiple Destination Routing: If you're planning a trip with
multiple stops, the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM will allow you to place the destinations in
the order you wish, or allow the unit to order the stops for the most efficient
route, saving you time and money. You can change the order of stops at any time.
SmartDetour: When you slow down under 20% of the speed limit
on a freeway, after a few seconds the Magellan software assumes you are in a
traffic jam and displays the SmartDetour feature on the Map screen. Detours are
calculated using the same routing method that was used to create the route. A
list of alternate routes will be displayed.
Auto Re-Route: If you travel off the computed route, the
Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM will automatically re-calculate the routing
information to get you to your original destination using the routing method you
selected when creating the route.
AAA TourBook: The AAA TourBook provides ratings and descriptions on
AAA approved places to stay, play, dine, and save (for US & Canada). The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM includes
travel information from AAA to make your trip safe, easy, and hassle-free. AAA membership required
(visit www.AAA.com/GPS to register). If
you are a AAA member, you can take advantage of discount listings wherever the
AAA card is accepted. There is an option to calculate a route to any of the
locations provided in the TourBook.
- AAA TourBook Information: View information about
accommodations, restaurants, destinations, attractions and events in
locations near your current position or near any location you enter.
(Restaurants and lodging destinations include AAA "Diamond" ratings info.)
- Show Your Card & Save: Search for businesses that offer
discounts for AAA members.
- Approved Auto Repairs: Search for AAA-approved
automotive repair facilities, including hours of operation and services
offered.
- AAA Branch Offices: Search for AAA branch offices with
information on hours of operation and services offered.
- Campgrounds: Search for campgrounds rated by AAA.
Traffic Information
Free Lifetime Traffic Alerts: The Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM offers Free Lifetime Traffic alerts. This allows the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM to provide real-time traffic information with no subscription fees.
Traffic Receiver: The Magellan RoadMate's vehicle power
adapter features a built-in traffic receiver. The Magellan RoadMate Commerical 9270T-LM
can receive traffic information so as to avoid delays in your travel. The unit's
built-in traffic receiver will provide you with detours to help you avoid
traffic jams and construction zones.
Note: Traffic warnings will not work if the unit is not
connected to the included power adapter or you are using a different power
adapter.
Traffic Incident Alerts: When routing, if a traffic
incident(s), slow traffic, or stopped traffic will delay your arrival, the
traffic icon on the unit's Map screen will display the computed delay due
to traffic in the red box below the traffic icon.
Avoiding Traffic Incidents: When the traffic icon indicates
a delay, you can select to avoid any or all of the traffic incidents along your
route. The navigation unit will then calculate an alternative route.
Speed Warning: The Magellan RoadMate Pro 9165T-LM provides
visual and audible speed limit warnings for applicable roads, such as Highways,
Freeways, and Interstates.
Built-in Bluetooth
Bluetooth Technology: The Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM
features Bluetooth Technology for hands-free calling from a compatible
Bluetooth-enabled cellular phone. You can make and receive calls hands free
using the unit's built-in microphone and speaker.
Dialing a Number: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM offers the
following calling options.
- Voice Dial: If your phone supports voice recognition,
you can speak voice commands into the 9165T-LM's mic to dial a number.
- Call Home: You can save your home phone to the RoadMate
Commercial 9270T-LM for quick access.
- Address Book: You can import phone numbers from your
phone to the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM.
- Speed Dialing: You can assign phone numbers to the GPS
device's on-screen virtual keypad for speed dialing.
- Manual Dial: You can use the RoadMate's on-screen
virtual keypad to dial a phone number manually.
- Call Log: The unit automatically stores your recent
dialed, answered, and missed calls.
- Redial: You can quickly redial the last call you
previously made.
Answering a Call: When your Bluetooth enabled phone gets an
incoming call, the Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM displays an Answer Phone
screen. Tap the green button to answer the call or the red button to end the
call. Using the unit's built-in microphone and speaker, you can carry on a
conversation with the caller. You can adjust the mic and speaker volume.
Pairing: Before you use the Bluetooth function of the
Magellan RoadMate receiver you must pair your Bluetooth ready phone to the
RoadMate. A list of compatible phones can be found on the Magellan web site at
www.magellangps.com/support.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology,
some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or
may not support all features when used with the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM.
A/V Input
A/V Input: The Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM features a
3.5mm audio/video input which allows you to connect an external audio/video
source (such as a portable DVD player or digital audio player) to the unit for
movie or music playback. When there is a navigation voice alert, the audio from
the A/V section will be muted and the alert announced.
Backup Camera (Optional): Using the Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM's A/V input, the optional Magellan Wireless Back-up Camera System (360WBUC,
sold separately) transforms the RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM into a rearview monitor.
While the Magellan GPS navigator guides you when driving, this wireless back-up
camera system provides a measure of safety as you begin and end your trip. The
Magellan Wireless Back-up Camera System includes a rear-view camera with
integrated license plate mount, a wireless transmitter, wireless receiver, and
12-volt power adapter.
Mounting Options
Heavy Duty Extension Mount: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM
GPS device comes with a Heavy Duty Extension Mount that is extremely versatile
and designed for vehicles with deep dashboards. You can easily make adjustments
to get the viewing position that works for you. The Heavy Duty Extension Mount
consists of a cradle, adjustable arm, and suction-cup that can be mounted to
either the windshield or dash of your vehicle.
Note: The Magellan RoadMate needs a clear view of the
sky to receive signals from the GPS satellites, so choose a location with an
unobstructed view of the sky, commonly on or near the windshield.
Safety Warning: Please check the applicable regulations in
your state regarding windshield mounting. Certain states prohibit the mounting
of any items on your windshield. Go to

Power Requirements
Rechargeable Battery: The Magellan RoadMate receiver has an
internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery (720mAh) that permits use of the receiver for brief periods of time
while not connected to external power. The unit has a built-in Li-Ion
rechargeable battery that offers up to 30 minutes of continuous use. You can
recharge the unit's built-in battery with the supplied vehicle power adapter in
your car or the included AC power adapter in your home. The internal battery will begin charging as soon as power is supplied
to the Magellan RoadMate. It can take up to 4 hours to fully charge the battery,
depending on the battery level. The battery does not need to be fully charged to
use the Magellan RoadMate.
Note: The internal battery cannot be charged through a
USB cable connected to a personal computer.
Battery Strength Indicator: The RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM features an
on-screen Battery Strength Indicator so you know exactly how much battery life
you have left.
Auto Power: If the touchscreen has not been accessed or the
current position has not changed for a defined period of time, the Magellan
RoadMate can be set to power off to save battery life.
Computer Requirements
mini-USB Port: The Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9270T-LM's features a
mini-USB (type-B) port and comes with a 31" USB cable for connecting the
navigation unit to your PC for software and map updates from the Magellan
website.
Magellan Content Manager: The Magellan Content Manager is a
free downloadable computer application that syncs with your Magellan GPS navigator to
deliver new updates, map unlocks, and easy access to your magellangps.com
account. Download the free software to enjoy the latest software updates and map
updates for your Magellan auto navigation device. It's the fastest and easiest
way to get software updates & map updates for the Magellan RoadMate navigation
unit. The Magellan Content Manager Software is available for select
Windows PCs and
Mac computers.
