These Alpine component speakers are sounding great. I listen to everything from Metallica and Rage to Waylon and Cash to Eminem. All of these different genres sound good! Installing the woofers was a breeze. The tweeters on the other hand took some time. I was able to take tin snips and cut the factory tweeter away from the bracket, then use a dremel to file down the pieces I cut. The Alpine tweeters fit through the opening and the lock nut screwed on and hold them in place very nicely. By doing this I didn't have to make a bracket, the factory one with the new tweeter went right back on the door. I mistakenly found out that if you cut the factory tweeter wire, at the speaker, tape the red and black wire off, and plug the factory tweeter harness back into the factory plug it came out of it, will allow the new tweeter and woofer to work by attaching the Alpine woofer and tweeter speakers together like they should be. I didn't have to cut, splice or connect any wiring other than from the factory tweeter I had taken apart anyway. Maybe just by having the factory tweeter harness connected keeps the speaker circuit in tact. All I know is it works! and sounds great! Installed these in the front doors of my 08 Ram 1500 Quad Cab. Drilled holes in the door panels for the tweeters and they installed very simply. Looks almost like stock. The treble is excellent, and the high mids are very clear and concise. Still tweaking the EQ settings on my stereo to get it perfect. Pros: Clear treble, and mids. Cons: Not quite so much lower mid bass levels. That's probably because I don't have it hooked up to an amp, just my aftermarket Jensen head unit. No comparison to factory junk speakers after you install these youll see how terrible they are! Real crisp highs and mids and decent base. Wouldn't say its quite as nice as the Bose system in the Denali's that ive rode in, but not far behind with not having an amp and installing to a factory radio! Installation took a little time but wasnt terrible, running the speaker wire through rubber between the door and the A pillar is a tight fit but it will work. I wanted to mount the tweeters in the factory location so had to do that. A little modification was required to fit the tweeters to the widow pillars, trim the inside of the tweeter grill with a exacto and hot glue it in place it will just barely go in there but it looks like factory when its done. I paired these up with the two way 610s in the rear doors which were simple to install very happy with all of it sounds great! Why install component speakers? A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Our take on the Alpine SPS-610C by Buck Pomerantz The sonic specialists at Alpine optimize their SPS-610C 6-3/4" component speakers for great range and impressive tone definition, even at low power levels. You can connect these versatile Type-S Series speakers to your factory stereo for an immediate sonic improvement, or hook them up to a powerful aftermarket stereo or amp for increased performance. Mineral-fortified polypropylene cones are exceptionally stiff, yet lightweight, which means they can push out accurate bass and deliver clear midrange. Resilient rubber surrounds help keep the woofer centered for accurate cone movement, reducing distortion. You can aim the separate silk dome tweeters toward you so that they deliver the strongest possible stereo image. Woofer grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations. Note: Alpine describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Given their required cutout, they will also fit standard 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of standard 3-hole 6-1/2" applications, Ford 4-hole 6-1/2" applications, and non-standard 6-3/4" applications, without any modification. Crossovers: The Alpine SPS-610C features low-pass crossovers attached to each woofer's input terminal and high-pass crossovers in-line with the tweeters' speaker wires.

I listen to everything from Metallica and Rage to Waylon and Cash to Eminem. All of these different genres sound good! Installing the woofers was a breeze. The tweeters on the other hand took some time. I was able to take tin snips and cut the factory tweeter away from the bracket, then use a dremel to file down the pieces I cut. The Alpine tweeters fit through the opening and the lock nut screwed on and hold them in place very nicely. By doing this I didn't have to make a bracket, the factory one with the new tweeter went right back on the door. I mistakenly found out that if you cut the factory tweeter wire, at the speaker, tape the red and black wire off, and plug the factory tweeter harness back into the factory plug it came out of it, will allow the new tweeter and woofer to work by attaching the Alpine woofer and tweeter speakers together like they should be. I didn't have to cut, splice or connect any wiring other than from the factory tweeter I had taken apart anyway. Maybe just by having the factory tweeter harness connected keeps the speaker circuit in tact. All I know is it works! and sounds great! Installed these in the front doors of my 08 Ram 1500 Quad Cab. Drilled holes in the door panels for the tweeters and they installed very simply. Looks almost like stock. The treble is excellent, and the high mids are very clear and concise. Still tweaking the EQ settings on my stereo to get it perfect. Pros: Clear treble, and mids. Cons: Not quite so much lower mid bass levels. That's probably because I don't have it hooked up to an amp, just my aftermarket Jensen head unit. No comparison to factory junk speakers after you install these youll see how terrible they are! Real crisp highs and mids and decent base. Wouldn't say its quite as nice as the Bose system in the Denali's that ive rode in, but not far behind with not having an amp and installing to a factory radio! Installation took a little time but wasnt terrible, running the speaker wire through rubber between the door and the A pillar is a tight fit but it will work. I wanted to mount the tweeters in the factory location so had to do that. A little modification was required to fit the tweeters to the widow pillars, trim the inside of the tweeter grill with a exacto and hot glue it in place it will just barely go in there but it looks like factory when its done. I paired these up with the two way 610s in the rear doors which were simple to install very happy with all of it sounds great!
