They also feature an in-line volume control for making adjustments without removing your player from your bag or pocket. Noise-canceling technology gives you peace and quiet Sennheiser's patented NoiseGard technology significantly reduces extraneous sounds, such as engine roar, wind noise, and the conversation of surrounding passengers. Tiny microphones in the headphones pick up the sounds of your environment. Advanced circuitry then creates a signal that "cancels out" much of this external noise without affecting your music or movie soundtrack. Built with the traveler in mind, the PXC 250-II's padded earcups and headband stay comfortable for hours on end. The headphones come with a stereo mini plug and an airline adapter for use during in-flight movies. Plus, they fold up into a compact package the size of a pair of eyeglasses, and come with a carry pouch for easy transport. Quick impressions from the Lab Quick impressions from the Lab Comment by Lynn Copywriter, Car, Written by Lynn, Copywriter, Car, on 10/4/2012 3:02:00 PM I've never purchased noise-cancelling headphones before, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I first tried on the Sennheiser PXC 250-II. I added the AAA battery that was included in the box (who includes batteries anymore?) and instantly heard a soft, shushing sound reminiscent of a white-noise sound machine. Then, I dialed into my iTunes, chose a song and listened to some pretty clear, fairly full sound. The cups are pretty well cushioned, which lets me wear them for long stretches of time, and the headband is adjustable so I don't feel like my head's in a vise. What I really like is the portability of these headphones. They fold flat to fit into the included travel pouch, which makes them easily transportable in a purse or carry-on bag for a flight, for instance. And the noise-cancelling function will definitely help knock out engine noise to let me relax on a trip. These are great. Very lightweight and compact. They reduce the noise very well. These are smaller and fit on my ear so after very long flights (8+ hours), if I sleep with them, my ears get a little sore but I think it is beacuse I am laying on them. Yes, Bose are better but these work very well and are a good deal (price-wise). 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Very good sound, comfortable and noise cancelling feature effective. 2 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Bose Move over these are better Written By Robert, Florida or Antigua on Monday, August 23, 2010 I've heard the Bose and bought these instead. Smaller, light weight and foldable in a nice case. Great sounding. If you travel a bit and want to stay light then this is the headset. Nice and comfortable. I did a 16 hour flight from Newark to Singapore with these and it was great. The Noise cancelling is on the cord a little annoying but not so terrible. If you bump it you get a thumping sound so clip it to your shirt. The active noise cancelling works well and knocks out the plane noise and babies one row over any baby directly next to you will win. Sound quality is great, highs and lows all accounted for.. So I got great sound, light weight and paid half of what Bose charges, and they take up less room in brief case. When it comes to headphones Sennheiser is the real pro. 22 out of 22 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
