Audio Section
MOSFET Amplifier: The XML8110 is equipped with a MOSFET
amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification
circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less
distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder
and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the
amplification circuit.
CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the XML8110
are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement
standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were
developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and
between manufacturers. The power output specs for the XML8110 are as follows:
- CEA2006 Specs: 18 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms,
20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
- Maximum Power Output: 60 watts x 4 channels (240 watts
total)
Preset EQ Curves: The Dual iPod Receiver features the following preset
EQ curves to customize your music listening - Pop, Jazz, Classic, Beat, Rock,
and Flat.
Bass And Treble: The Bass and Treble and be independently adjusted
from -6 to +6. Bass and Treble settings are retained for each mode individually.
Any adjustments to the Bass or Treble settings automatically cancel the current
EQ curve.
Loudness Curve: Activating this feature will enhance the bass and
treble frequencies when listening to music at low volume.
Selectable Preamp Outputs: The XML8110 features front and
rear preamp outputs. The rear preamp output allows you to adjust from a
full-range rear speaker preamp output to a low-pass non-fading subwoofer preamp
output. The unit's subwoofer preamp output level
can be adjusted independently from 0-12. Adjusting the subwoofer level to 0
turns the subwoofer output off.
Programmable Turn-On Volume: You can program the unit to turn on
at a specific volume.
Source Volume Level: The Source Volume Level control allows a gain
adjustment for each audio source (AM, FM, iPod, Aux, and Bluetooth). You can set the
source volume level for each mode, depending on the relative volume of each
audio source.
Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to
confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.
AM/FM Tuner
AM/FM Tuner: The Dual XML8110 features a built-in AM/FM tuner
with manual, seek, and preset tuning.
Preset Tuning: The built-in AM/FM tuner allows you to store up to 18 FM station presets and 12 AM station presets.
Presets can be stored manually by the user or automatically by the head unit.
Seek Tuning: In
addition to preset tuning, the XML8110's tuner allows Seek, Scan and Manual tuning
of AM/FM stations.
External Device Connection
iPod Dock: The Dual XML8110 is equipped with a built-in iPod dock for
connection of select Apple iPods with dock connector. The unit's face-plate
manually folds-down to access the iPod dock. The integrated iPod dock is
adjustable and comes with two rubber support brackets to accommodate various
sizes and models of iPod. The integrated iPod dock features its own LCD display
and set of controls. The XML8110 supports audio playback, basic control
(Play/Pause/Next/Previous), and charging of your compatible iPod. Your iPod's
click-wheel or touch-screen will remain fully functional when docked for more
advanced control. The XML8110's display does not support iPod text, so you will
continue to your iPod's display screen to view song information. The Dual XML8110 is "Made for iPod" compatible and supports the
following iPod model features (as of March 2010):

Note: Apple firmware updates may change
functionality results. You may need to reset your iPod if you download a
newer software version.
Auxiliary Input: The Dual XML8110 is equipped with
rear-mounted, stereo RCA auxiliary input for connecting an external audio
device, other than an iPod.
iPlug: The head unit also includes the iPlug, a 40" interface
cable that connects a portable MP3 player, or other portable audio source unit,
to the receiver's auxiliary input. The iPlug plugs into the head unit's RCA
auxiliary input and has a dash-mountable 3.5mm female minijack on the other end.
The iPlug can be secured to your dash or console using the supplied adhesive or
self-tapping screws.
Bluetooth Ready: The optional Dual BTM60 Bluetooth module (070BTM60,
sold separately) allows you to answer and place calls from your
Bluetooth-enabled wireless phone through the XML8110. The BTM60 connects to the
head unit through a single 8-pin plug to the back of the head unit. The 3-meter
cable is routed along the A-pillar of the vehicle to the visor-mounted module.
It works with Bluetooth Version 2.0 (v1.2 compliant), and communicates with most
Bluetooth-enabled phones (up to 8 Bluetooth devices can be paired; only one
working at a time). The BTM60 supports the following profiles:
- Hands-Free Calling (HFP): You can make, receive or end
phone calls using the module's "Talk" button or from the head unit. You can
dial out using the head unit's front panel numbered buttons or from a
listing of the last five phone calls that were received, dialed or missed.
Incoming phone numbers will scroll across the head unit's display so you
know who is calling and an audible ring tone will be heard through your
vehicle's speakers. Using the BTM60's built-in noise and echo-canceling
microphone allows you to carry on a mobile conversation through the
vehicle's speakers without picking up your cell-phone.
- Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP): The BTM60 also
supports A2DP wireless streaming music audio from your Bluetooth-enabled
device, allowing you to listen to audio wireless from your Bluetooth
compatible mobile phone or portable MP3 player.
- Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP): You can control
your wireless streaming music audio from the front panel of the head unit
using AVRCP. The BTM60's wireless connection allows you to control certain
playback functions (such as play, pause, skip, etc.) of your wireless
streaming music audio player using controls from the head unit.
Note: All BTM60 HFP functions work with the iPhone
(using iPhone FW version 1.0.2) with the exception of caller ID. When a call
is being received, the head unit will display "Incoming Call". The iPhone
does not support A2DP or AVRCP. Not all Bluetooth enabled mobile phones will
be compatible with this unit. Please visit dualav.com for a complete list of
compatible Bluetooth enabled phones.
Expansion Module Slot: The unit's proprietary expansion module slot (hidden behind fold-down
front-panel) provides an easy way to upgrade the XML8110 with new features.
Check dualav.com for future upgrade information.
Remote Control
Wireless Remote Control: The XML8110 comes supplied with a 21-button
IR wireless remote control which provides complete control of the Dual AM/FM
head unit with iPod dock.
Steering Wheel Input Interface: The 3.5mm steering wheel interface
input located on the back of the head unit allows connection to the optional PAC
SWI-PS interface module (127SWIPS,
sold separately). The SWI-PS interface allows you to
retain the use of your steering wheel and/or rear seat radio controls when
replacing the factory head unit in select vehicles. The SWI-PS is compatible
with over 95% of the vehicles made from 1986 to the present. Compatible vehicles
include many Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge,
Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus,
Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Oldsmobile, Plymouth,
Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, Suzuki, Toyota, and Volkswagen vehicles and Harley
Davidson motorcycles.
Note: Please consult Crutchfield's "Outfit
My Car" to see if your vehicle is compatible.
