This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you don't know how to use a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors that you'll use to attach the Crutchfield harness to your factory harness.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required & sold separately.

Easy to match wires from receiver to harness with one exception. Harness did not have a lead for the factory subwoofer. I had to wire the receiver lead to the factory lead and bypass the harness.

Using this wiring harness, I was able to install the new car stereo with NO cutting into the factory wiring harness. Preserving the factory wiring is important to me, and this wiring harness allowed me to easily install the stereo and achieve all the functionality of the unit. I am very happy!

Instructions were fine, leads were plenty long enough, and the connector fit. Can't really ask for more here.

No specifics on dimmer functionality, but apparently the Miatas dimmer signal is inverted, so may not even work. May try it out in the future, but not really necessary.

Bought the wiring harness for my 1990 mazda miata with the kenwood kdc-108. Color code on wires match. Needed some wrie strippers and a solder gun. 20 minutes at a table with the solder and i had a nice clean connection that mated with the factory connectors. well worth the money.

It was the technical support and all the little "add-ons" like this wiring
harness adapter that convinced me to pay a little more and purchase this radio
from Crutchfield. I know I could have probably ordered the adapter somewhere
else, but it was nice to know that I was getting everything I needed with one
order, and not have to search around and take a chance that I was ordering the
wrong thing.

The adapter worked perfectly. It took a little time to do the soldering but once
it was done all that was left was to snap the connectors to the radio and the
car's wiring harness and I was done.

Only problem was 2 wires for the speakers were mislabeled in the diagram supplied with
the harness. After I had connected all the other wires, I could easily figure out the problem
and corrected the error. Other than that, It worked great.
