Bought the m-2250 to go along with it. I am pleased with the look and quaty. If you have a small space wouldn't recommend that amp... But would recommend this bass!! Was this review helpful? Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value 3 out of 5 Be careful what you buy Written By Michael L, Brunswick, GA on Monday, February 25, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I did not truly understand the type of enclosure this was, and what type of sound it will produce. Some 10 months later, I call Crutchfield back as I still can't get a good sound that I am looking for. Come to find out, this bandpass enclosure is good for vibrating the car basically. It does do that pretty good. The sound is not responsive to the power given to the speaker. I understand now that the vibrating blury sound is what is to be expected from this speaker. Needless to say, I have another speaker enclosure on it's way to me. The enclosure is built well and construction is on par for a nice unit, just not the sound that I want. Pros: Nice appearance and quality build of compartment Cons: The sound out of this type of enclosure Was this review helpful? Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value 5 out of 5 Pretty nice Bandpass setup Written By Rick, Rosamond, CA on Wednesday, January 09, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Bought this as a present for my son. I paired it with the M-1500 AMP based on recommendations in the reviews. I have to say that he's pretty pleased with it. I was initially disappointed by the amount of "hit" that we initially got out of it. But once he got the 20 hour break in done, it seemed to give a little more thump. I do wish the lower end frequency was lower but 40 Hz isn't bad. The box size is bigger than I though but it looks nice installed. Pros: Sounds good after the break in period, look pretty good in the trunk of my son's 2012 Civic. Cons: Takes up half of the 2012 Civic's trunk, frequency range could be greater Was this review helpful? Written By Dan D, Chicago, IL on Monday, January 07, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I had been looking for a sub to replace my MTX 12"( I purchased from Crutchfield back in 2006!) for a couple months. I loved the original price and thought based on the reviews it had tremendous value. Then on November 21st my MTX sub blew out!! I get an email from Crutchfield about their Black Friday sales. Long behold this bad boy on sale for like 1 or 2 days!!! What are the chances! Either price was great, because I think the quality of these subs is well worth $150-$175. Plus free shipping? Thats like making a cake and eating it too. Pros: Awesome quality, great lows, solid highs, such an overachiever. Cons: I thought it'd be smaller, but still good! Was this review helpful? Written By coorstogo, Nacogdoches, Texas on Monday, December 31, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I put this box in a 93 Durango behind the third seat row and was perfect fit in the area. I had just enough room between the seat and hatch door. I have 210 Watts rms pushing the sub and I couldn't expect any more from it. Sound quality is great, there is plenty of bass for the buck and the box looks cool ! Pros: I Like the enclosed sub woofer it keeps it in good shape and I like the sound quality that the box has Cons: It does not have a handle or hand hold built into it Was this review helpful? Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value 5 out of 5 B-17 is incredible! Written By Mark, Niagara Falls on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 Many of my buddies laughed at me when I first told them I ordered a "Sound Ordinance" subwoofer mainly because it isn't a well known brand. Boy did I prove them wrong. This thing is amazing! I have it hooked up with the SO M-1350 amplifier, and I couldn't be happier. For being a low wattage subwoofer, this thing hits incredibly hard! It lets off a deep sounding bass that's enough to rattle your neighbor's stuff. Also, it's just great to look at! The acrylic window is a wonderful addition because you don't need to worry about what you're throwing into your trunk, the subwoofer is well protected! In conclusion, the B-17 is a wonderful addition to any car. It's easy on the eyes and amazing on the ears, 5 stars hands down! 4 out of 4 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Written By David, Butte, MT 59701 on Monday, May 28, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Im really not impressed with the sound qaulity of this speaker. It does look good and is very well constructed but I definitely would not reccommend this set up to anyone who is looking for low, crisp, deep bass. Pros: well constructed, dynamic look, cost efficient Cons: poor sound qaulity (doesnt carry low bass lines, easily distorts) 1 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I wasn't "Blown away" but it sounds really good for the price. I don't think you can find a better sounding sub enclosure for less. I push it to the max too. 500. I'm three weeks in and it still sounds good. Impressive. I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to upgrade sounds for cheap. Oh, I live in Maryland and got it the next day for free! So I baught this sub when I seen it went on sale and said why not. I have had only kicker in the past, but am very impressed with this sub. I really didn't want to go with the bandpass mostly because of the look of it, but for the money you really can't get much better then this. I have it hooked up to a Kenwood KAC-9104D with a Kicker wiring kit. If you are looking for a take the person driving next to you breaths away this isn't the sub, but if you are looking for something that really good in the car for you and your company, then this is the sub for you. Real good bass for the price. And a lot lighter then I thought it would be.Would recommend to anyone. Pros: Good quality, build and sound, for the price. Cons: Non yet Was this review helpful? Deep, loud bass that sounds great. First sub lasted 7 months, crutchfield replaced it and the second one just broke after 6 months. Listen to lots of dubstep, drum n bass, reggae and other bass music tho so to be fair I do put the subs under a lot of stress. I replaced my 8" Alpine Type R in a ported box (350 watts RMS) with this bandpass box and speaker. The difference is very clear. The bass in my car sounds louder, deeper, lower and fuller. This sub doesn't sound like a 250 watt RMS speaker. It is also a very attractive looking piece of hardware. I highly recommend this product. There is NO WAY you can get better bass from a single 12" sub than this. Pros: sound, price and cool looking Cons: None Was this review helpful? Bought this speaker and a Boston GTA 802 amp rated at 260 watts rms not a good recomendation, I hooked this thing up to a 500 watt rms amp and wow!!!! I have been building systems 20 years and this speaker impressed me. Bang for the buck cannot be matched, walmart pricing with top shelf quality. If you buy this speaker over power it, go with 350 plus watts, I have 500 pushing mine and it handles it all, I turned it down just a little to keep things cool. At 250 watts I was on the phone with crutchfeild telling them we had a problem. OVERPOWER OVERPOWER OVERPOWER!!! Power dont blow speakers distortion does, as long as you dont get carried away it will handle up to 500 watts Ive seen it my self. I have a 98 Nissan Maxima and I installed this sub along with the Sound Ordnance M2-100 amp. I have an aftermarket Alpine receiver and Kicker speakers also. This has been in my car for several months now and I am totally impressed with how great the bass is in my car! Even though it is a single sub, it has more than enough oomph to shake my car and I can definitely make my neighbors angry if I want to. I usually listen to music at normal levels, and at low and regular levels it really fills out the bottom end of your sound and thumps enough to be satisfying. At high levels, this sub hits hard enough to shake the car, stays clean, and sounds amazing. My brother has two 12 inch top of the line Kicker subs, and at normal listening levels, this sub is almost as good as his, and this is 600 dollars cheaper! That brings me to the best part of this sub, the value. You absolutely cannot beat the performance of the B-17 for its low price. If you are on a tight budget like me but want good bass, you can to stop looking and order this sub. You'll be blown away. Pros: -Amazing bass for cheap single sub, excellent build quality, looks awesome, comes with 3 year warranty Cons: -pretty bulky Was this review helpful? 3 out of 5 Be careful what you buy Written By Michael L, Brunswick, GA on Monday, February 25, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I did not truly understand the type of enclosure this was, and what type of sound it will produce. Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value
5 out of 5 Pretty nice Bandpass setup Written By Rick, Rosamond, CA on Wednesday, January 09, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Bought this as a present for my son. Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value
5 out of 5 Simply Awesome! 5 out of 5 Great Sub ! 5 out of 5 Excellent Written By Goose, Alaska on Saturday, December 15, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Excellent sound for such a great price. Its band pass so it doesn't need as much power as regular ported/sealed boxes. Bigger than I thought but I like it!! Was this review helpful? 5 out of 5 B-17 is incredible! 3 out of 5 WHERE'S THE BASS?????? Written By David, Butte, MT 59701 on Monday, May 28, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Im really not impressed with the sound qaulity of this speaker. It does look good and is very well constructed but I definitely would not reccommend this set up to anyone who is looking for low, crisp, deep bass. Pros: well constructed, dynamic look, cost efficient Cons: poor sound qaulity (doesnt carry low bass lines, easily distorts) 1 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 Great Value Written By Jay, Maryland on Tuesday, May 08, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) After reading all the positive reviews I decided to purchase this sub. You can't beat that. Pros: Well built, cheap, great sound! Cons: Misses Lows, almost non existant Was this review helpful? Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value
4 out of 5 Sound Ordnance B-17 Written By Daniel Armas, Yonkers,NY. on Sunday, May 06, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) 5 out of 5 Satisfied Written By vega487, APO on Thursday, May 03, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) So I baught this sub when I seen it went on sale and said why not. 4 out of 5 Sounds great but keeps breaking down Written By Simon, Southern California on Tuesday, May 01, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Deep, loud bass that sounds great. First sub lasted 7 months, crutchfield replaced it and the second one just broke after 6 months. Listen to lots of dubstep, drum n bass, reggae and other bass music tho so to be fair I do put the subs under a lot of stress. Definetly worth the value 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value

5 out of 5 AwesomE!!!! Written By TobeMac, Bronx, NY on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I replaced my 8" Alpine Type R in a ported box (350 watts RMS) with this bandpass box and speaker. 5 out of 5 WOW Written By Booming in WV, Cowen, WV on Monday, April 16, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Bought this speaker and a Boston GTA 802 amp rated at 260 watts rms not a good recomendation, I hooked this thing up to a 500 watt rms amp and wow!!!! Pros: Big Bang for the buck, Wow Factor, good looking package, makes you rearveiw mirror dance with your music Cons: you will find all loose bolts in your car, have to retighten your license plate!!! NONE CHEAP BOOM FOR YOUR RIDE 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value
5 out of 5 Amazing Sub for the Money Written By jake, Dayton, OH on Monday, April 09, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I have a 98 Nissan Maxima and I installed this sub along with the Sound Ordnance M2-100 amp. 5 out of 5 B-17 blows away Kicker comps and other useless subs.s Written By E85T6STI, Arizona on Sunday, March 25, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Ok so man first of all I am blown away... once u get to hear the sound from this thing than u will understand where I'm coming from. Sounds so clean so deep with heart trembling bass. It was so freaking loud that I let my friend Jay listen to it and he has two kicker COMP Vr's or whatever crap he said and let me tell ya he's selling them with in the next week or so and purchasing this bad boy... My god this subis packed with so much punch 250/500 RMS with an M15OO Mono amplifier u can't go wrong. If you do not want to be stared at while driving than don't get this if uwant a lot of attention than this is your best and only bet. I drive a 2011 STI with a stock double DIN NAV... Yea the difference there is no comparison. This is a competition sub no matter which way u look at it. PeAce go get it Pros: Tremendous heart trembling bass, just enough to enter into a competition. 3 year warranty. Very clean deep bass sound. Perfect for HIP/HOP and R&B... Also some rock Cons: virtually really none except that it is very wide and tall for some vehicles. Was this review helpful? Yes | No "Coolness Factor" Build Quality Ease of Use Sound Quality Value
