Audio Features
Aluminum/Glass-Resin Front Panel: The CD6004 CD player's front
panel is constructed from aluminum and glass-reinforced resin, which resists
harmful resonances that can harm sonic quality. The panel is finished in a soft
black tone, and features a graceful curvature that complements any home décor.
Double Layered Bottom Plate: The CD6004 employs a double layered
bottom plate to prevent unwanted resonance that could lead to distortion.
CS4398 High-Performance D/A Converter: The CD6004 uses a
Super-Audio CD grade 192kHz/24-bit Cirrus
Logic CS4398 D/A converter to provide exceptional sound quality. This
high-performance D/A converter is capable of handling high definition audio data
streams (DSD and 24-bit/192 kHz PCM signals).
CD Playback Technology: During
CD play, the PCM signals recorded on the disc are oversampled to 128fs inside
the D/A converter and then processed by a combination of the dynamic element
matching (DEM) and multi-element switched capacitors to achieve playback
characterized by a high linearity.
HDAM-SA2 (High Definition Amplifier Module): The CD6004
utilizes Marantz's Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module, or HDAM, at critical analog
circuit junctions to insure smooth and ultra-fast signal transfer from one stage
to another. Marantz uses HDAMs instead of
standard op-amps, to render a more dynamic sound with less susceptibility to
radiated noise, heat, and vibration. The unit uses an HDAM-SA2 for high-speed
and high-quality sound.
Current Buffer Design: A current buffer design eliminates interference
from preamp input circuitry. In addition, audio outputs are laid out in
symmetrical fashion, allowing for more dynamic, accurate, and detailed sound and
pinpoint imaging.
Precision System Clock: The CD6004 employs a precision system clock to
virtually eliminate any jitter for distortion-free music that sounds like the
artist intended.
Audio EX Function: This function turns the player's display and
digital output off in order to playback higher sound quality from the unit's
analog audio output. With those two potential noise sources eliminated,
you'll be able to hear everything just as the artists intended.
Gold Plated Outputs: The CD player features gold plated
outputs in order to offer the best connection for your system. The terminals are
chassis-mounted so they can take the strain of audiophile interconnects.
- Digital Outputs: Two digital
outputs, one optical (Toslink) and one coaxial (RCA), are provided for sending
signal to the digital input terminals of a receiver, outboard D/A converter, or
CD recorder.
- Analog Output: The CD player
also features a stereo RCA output for analog connection.
- Headphone Output: The unit has
a front panel 1/4" headphone jack with level control. The high-grade headphone circuit
incorporates a high-speed buffer amplifier to enable headphone listening of high
quality sound reproduction.
USB/iPod Connectivity
USB Port: The CD player features a front-panel USB (type-A)
port. The front panel port is designed for USB (MSC) devices or direct iPod/iPhone connection. The front panel USB port is compatible with FAT16/FAT32
file systems and will play MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV files. The CD6004 can support
700 folders and 65,535 files per folder. The unit will also display MP3/WMA tag
data information. The front-panel
controls and supplied wireless remote will operate your USB device or
iPod/iPhone.

iPod/iPhone Direct: You can connect your iPod or iPhone
to the front-panel USB port using the USB/Dock cable supplied with your iPod
(not included with this unit). Sound quality is maximized by using the USB
connection along with the CD6004's D/A converter. Playback can be controlled using the front panel
or remote buttons, or the iPod/iPhone itself. You can browsed your iPod/iPhone's
music library from the CD6004 by Album, Artist, Genre, Playlist, or Track. The
CD6004 will also display song/artist information, as well as charge your
iPod/iPhone. The unit is "Made for iPod/iPhone" compliant and supports the following iPod/iPhone model

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change
functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may
need to reset the CD player and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If
this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or
wait until a newer software update is available.
Convenience Features
Dimmable Display: You can adjust the CD player's display brightness
from Bright, Dim, Dark, or Off.
AMS: The Automatic Music Search feature will play the first
10, 20, or 30 seconds of each track on the disc. When you find the song you want
to listen to, you can press the AMS or play buttons for normal playback.
Program Play: You can arrange and play tracks on a disc in a
specific sequence. Up to 30 tracks can be programmed. As you are selecting
tracks, the display will show the number of tracks in the program, and the total
playing time of the programmed tracks. During program play, you can repeat the
entire list of programmed tracks, or play them in random order.
QuickReplay: By a single-action operation, the "Quick Replay" function
enables play to be moved back from the current play position to the time
equivalent to the setting (range of 5 to 60 seconds) and play to be resumed.
This function makes it possible to return to a part of the track that was just
played so it can be heard again.
Timer Play: When this CD player is connected to a commercially
available external audio timer (sold separately), the unit's power is switched
on and media playback starts at the specified time.
Auto Standby: With Auto Standby On, you can automatically
set this unit to standby mode after the CD player is in stop-mode (no operation)
continuously for approximately 30 minutes.
Remote Control
IR Remote Control: In addition the unit's front-panel controls,
the single CD player comes supplied with a dedicated full-feature IR wireless remote control
for easy operation of the CD6004. In addition, the remote has controls for a
connected Marantz amplifier with input selection, volume control, and mute.
Remote Input/Output: Two RCA jacks
(1 "in" and 1 "out") are provided for connecting the player and another Marantz
A/V component for system remote control purposes. The accompanying switch allows
you to select the remote control mode you desire: External (when the player is
connected to another component's remote control jacks) or Internal (when the
player is used as a standalone component).
Flasher In: This 3.5mm minijack input is used to control this unit
using an optional keypad (sold separately) from another room of your house.
