Pros:

I have a 2009 Nissan maxima with premium sound system. I bought a pair of Focal 165 KRX2 that are 6 1/2 inches (I hope this info helps other customers). The hole to mount the speaker is about 5 inches in diameter so you will basically have to customize the adaptor, cutting to the right size, drilling the holes. I bought this think that I will save all that work. I guess I was wrong. The adaptor is 1/4 of an inch thick so don't even think cutting it by hand

Pros:

It looks pretty strong. Well made

Cons:

Not universal. At least not for my car

a good bracket

i went from a 6x9 to a 6and 1/2 component speaker so i was supplied these brackets. they mounted great to the factory location howeevr i had to screw threw the bracket to mount the woofer speaker. not a big deal . also there is a knock out for the tweeter which i used and you can use the knock out or surface mount it with the particular tweeter i used. i decided id use the knock out and the tweeter hit the old rim where the 6x9 sat. a small bit of trimming solved my issue.

Pros:

free with purchase of speakers. they work well

Cons:

the knock out for the tweeter is hard to remove and depending on how you mount the tweeter you might have to trim your door panel etc. this is also not a big deal

These fit perfectly into my 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Spyder, and made the process so much easier.

Pros:

Perfect fit. Speaker fit in snug.

Cons:

No exit points for wires to come back through. Buffers clips to reduce vibrations didn't fit.

The mount plate had the correct hole for the 5 1/4 speakers I bought. The only thing I had to drill was four holes to attach the Infinity mount plate to this mount plate and four holes to mount the speaker to the Infinity mount plate. I could have done it without the Infinity mount plate, but there was some foam isolation that came with the speakers that I wanted to use. It worked out especially good as I was able to unclip the original speakers from the original mount plate and this mount plate fit into the original mount plate like a glove. It made the installation a snap with no drilling or screws.

Pros:

A perfect fit to the original mount plate with good support for the speakers.

Cons:

None.

The universal adapter plates i will call them came with screws and clips for my speakers i ordered through crutchfiled. I specifically needed the adapters for my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT front door speaker holes that originally held 6x9's and i went to the recommended 5" component woofer from the crutchfield adviser. Upon truing to install the adapter the instructions called for using mounting clips but that was not possible due to the speaker holes having lips that are curled and rounded. The slots on the UNIVERSAL mounting plates did not line up with the factory speaker holes. I had to drill into the doors metal and custom mount. I specifically gave my truck make,model and year but the adapters are incompatible for a direct replacement without modifications.

Pros:

they will hold the 5" speaker

Cons:

not a direct fit for my Dodge

These plates are awesome but I bought them for use with MTX Audio's Thunder Axe High End Components in 61/2 and they don't fit, so I had to modify them, but they ended up working.

Does the job

These brackets do the job! All the holes lined up well enough for me to screw the speaker into the bracket and the bracket into the rear deck of my 06' Accord without any problems or modifications. The stock mesh speaker covers no longer snap all the way back into the rear deck of my accord. But, this may be the tweeter on my Polk db651s speaker sticking up slightly too much and not the bracket itself.

Pros:

The bracket itself is made out of a decent quality plastic. Its not cheap and flimsy feeling like some brackets I have used.

Cons:

As some reviewers have said, the screws and other hardware that came with these brackets are junk! I used my own.

The bracket in its own was amazing the perfect fit. The nuts and bolts that came with it were useless. After about 2 weeks i noticed the fell out and trust me i tightened them all the way, but it didnt work at all. To small and why a flat head bolt? shouldve been a philips or something i suggest using your own.

Easy to install speakers to and mount using the factory holes in the doors.

Pros:

ease of use no drilling required for installation of speakers or redrilling holes in the doors for mounting to them uses the stock hardware in my case but gives you more hardware incase you do have to modify the location for them.
