Features
Dynamic Balance:
Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to
determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of
resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response
and low distortion.
Composite Woofer: The speaker
uses a 5-1/4" composite Dynamic Balance woofer for clean midrange and deep,
accurate bass. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses
a rubber surround.
Silk/Polymer Tweeters: The
improved Dynamic Balance silk/polymer tweeter provides clear, detailed highs.
Bass Reflex: There is a
single port tube opening on the front of the speaker
for increased and extended bass response.
5-Way Binding
Posts: The 5-way
binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, banana
plugs, and dual banana plugs.
Magnetically
Shielded: Because the
speaker is magnetically shielded, it can be safely placed directly on or near
video sources without creating a distorted picture.
Recommended
Center Channel Mode: Polk
recommends using this speaker in the normal (small) center channel mode when
used with either Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Digital/DTS . The crossover is a 2nd
order low-pass and high-pass filter at 3.6kHz.
Note
Frequency Response: The overall
frequency response is 55Hz-22kHz. The -3dB frequency response is 60Hz-20kHz.
Manual
Correction
Speaker Impedance: The manual
incorrectly lists the speaker's nominal impedance as 4 ohms. The impedance is 8
ohms.
