I recently purchased a 2005 GMC Serria 1500 Crew Cab and the door speakers were shot. I decided to replace them with the Polk Audio db651 speakers and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The installation was fairly easy and the adaptors included made the speaker wire connections a snap. Just be sure to watch the video on YouTube first to make getting the door panels off eaiser. If you're not handy with a drill and figuring out how to adapt the front speakers to fit, you might want to get a friend to help. The speakers sounded a little flat at first but after a few days they sounded great. Good bass, midrange and treble. If the CD player in my stock radio wasn't broken I wouldn't change it. I got these to go with my JVC head unit in my truck and they sound great. I've had a lot of good experience with Polk DB speakers in the past and these were even better than I thought. I was expecting the bass to be non-existent or very weak, but they are very well rounded and actually thump a little depending on the music. (Your results may vary...it may just be my truck door cavity carries the low notes better than other car doors.) Of course the highs and mids are very good, which is pretty much a given for most Polk speakers and why I chose these in the first place. I bought some pioneer 6.5" speakers for half the price of the Polks to put in the rear just for fill and they sound crappy compared with the Polks. If I had to do it again I would probably get another pair of Polks for the rear, but oh well. That's what you get for trying to save money. Overall they are a great sounding co-axial speaker and worth the price. They are probably about as good as it gets for this configuration unless you step up to component speakerI would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a well performing speaker in this price range. Did not fit the door, or the supplied adaptor kit. I would have had to use the speaker adapter to mount it on the separate adapter kit and that would have had to be modified to fit the car door I wound up modifying the original speaker/mount and attaching the speakers directly to that Pros: Great sound. The speaker adapters and speaker wire harness connectors Crutchfield provides makes the job so incredibly easy! The master instruction guide from Crutchfield is awesome. Took me longer to take the door panels off then it did to install the speakers. The difference between stock speakers and these polks cannot even be compared. So much better! Also, I have a Alpine amp pushing these and they can handle every bit of power you feed them. Pros: Great sound. I recently purchased a 2005 GMC Serria 1500 Crew Cab and the door speakers were shot. I decided to replace them with the Polk Audio db651 speakers and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The installation was fairly easy and the adaptors included made the speaker wire connections a snap. Just be sure to watch the video on YouTube first to make getting the door panels off eaiser. If you're not handy with a drill and figuring out how to adapt the front speakers to fit, you might want to get a friend to help. The speakers sounded a little flat at first but after a few days they sounded great. Good bass, midrange and treble. If the CD player in my stock radio wasn't broken I wouldn't change it. I got these to go with my JVC head unit in my truck and they sound great. I've had a lot of good experience with Polk DB speakers in the past and these were even better than I thought. I was expecting the bass to be non-existent or very weak, but they are very well rounded and actually thump a little depending on the music. (Your results may vary...it may just be my truck door cavity carries the low notes better than other car doors.) Of course the highs and mids are very good, which is pretty much a given for most Polk speakers and why I chose these in the first place. I bought some pioneer 6.5" speakers for half the price of the Polks to put in the rear just for fill and they sound crappy compared with the Polks. If I had to do it again I would probably get another pair of Polks for the rear, but oh well. That's what you get for trying to save money. Overall they are a great sounding co-axial speaker and worth the price. They are probably about as good as it gets for this configuration unless you step up to component speakerI would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a well performing speaker in this price range. Pros: Great sound, well rounded, good value for the price Cons: Don't like the grille cover design, but I didn't need them as they are behind the factory door panel screens anyway Was this review helpful? This past weekend I replaced all 4 door speakers in our 2013 Kia Sportage with these units, and the improvement was definitely more than I anticipated. My wife is no audiophile, but she immediately noted the brighter and crisper treble, as well as the tighter, deeper, and more accurate bass response. With the 2013 Sportage, you do NOT have to use the "slim" versions of these speakers, and the factory head unit has more than enough power to drive them.
