The highs are not too tinny and the lows for 6x9's are great for their price point. These replaced the OEM speakers in my Titan. They made the OEM head unit sound much better. I was worried that the OEM head unit would not have sufficient power but the specs for the speakers and once installed proved otherwise. Now I am ready for a new head unit and amp to really utilize these speakers capability.
They did not get highest rating because Alpine does not include spade connectors or any wire for connecting them. My vehicle also does not have an adaptor that Crutchfield has to connect so I had to purchase wire and spade connectors to complete installation otherwise it would have been a 5 star review..

Awesome!!!!

I bought these speakers knowing that i would later need to buy an amp. I hooked them up and right away i noticed a huge difference. These alpines weigh more and of course sound so much better than my factory. I would recommend these speakers to anybody who is looking to get great sound on a low budget. They allow you to get your tweeter in there with the low to mid range. I cant wait to add an amp to hear them come to life.

This is the clearest sound I have ever heard from a 6 x 9 speaker,mounted these in Sound Ordnance wedge boxes powered by a Kenwood 5204 60 watt x 2 amplifier behind the back seat of a regular cab Dakota.The bass will not shake the windows but is quite impressive,if you want great sound without breaking the bank you wont go wrong with these speakers.

These speakers sound great!
Crutchfiled is the best site ever; they made the purchase easy and affortable.
Installation was a breeze - only took me about 30 minutes for both doors.
I will now buy all my car audio needs from Crutchfield.com only!

Great speakers, just like you would expect. Running with a Boston GT275 amp (rms 75 watt a channel). Really give them a work out, on rock and pop, if you like rap and hip hop, might need some help in the bass department.

CRYSTAL CLEAR and FULL OF POWER

Installed as front speakers in Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab driven by Alpine PDX-5 amp (75-100 Watt RMS per channel)....and these speakers really perform. These speakers can handle the highs and have plenty of punch as well. Great all-around speakers....but again, that's what you get with Alpine !

These speakers are like mini-subs. They can really slam. However, I only gave it 4 stars because the compression of the bass waves. The compression waves frequently distort the tremble of songs.

The speakers are extremely powerful -- the bass output is astonishing...if you see low rating on bass for these it is because they were not amp'ed. These speakers need a good amount of power (75 GOOD watts, not crap), and they make your forehead hurt. The midbass is out of this world, highs are very loud. Best speaker i've owned.

Unfortunately, these speakers had less bass to them than the factory speakers. The highs were a definite inprovement, but for a 6x9, i expected some sort of deeper bass. The factory speakers had unquestionably better bass and deeper lows

These are the best speakers I owned. Way better than my stereo speakers on my 07
Honda accord. The bass is awesome, and back is rocking with the bass. The
installation was a breeze since crutchfield send the harness for free, took
about half hr to install, unscrewing and screwing took most of the time. I am
going to buy these speakers again for my 2010 Camry.

Way Way Better!

These speakers are amazing. The magnet on these things are huge. I almost couldnt fit them in my car. It took altogether about 30 minutes to put them in thanks to crutchfield supplying all the speaker hookups. Its funny because i have a 91 caddy and they have carpet over the back, well when i turned these on it blew all the dust and stuff outta the carpet. But if your thinking about getting these, well stop, and go get them. They are amazing speakers great lows, highs, and mids. The tweeter really makes the sound pop. Really great speakers, that are really worth $200. Idk if im gonna get subs now lol.

Just got these speakers for my 99 honda accord and WOW what a difference from my stock speakers I have polk dbs in the front doors and let me tell you i have six tweeters all together in my car u can hear me coming. They were easy to install took me about and hour and 15 minutes. I didnt even use an amp and i still have my factory stereo i cant imagine when i amp them up and pick up a head unit their going to sound even better. Just stop looking around these are the best 6x9s in my opinion...... The tweeter on these bad boys are amazing. The bass is hard to. I would buy these again if i ever have to.

These speakers are great. they are really loud and clear. planning on getting another amp to power these speakers. already have an apline mrp-m1000 powering a alpine 12 inch type x so i cant say how the bass is on these speakers but they are definently worth the money!

i installed these speakers in a '92 Honda Accord bout a month ago. it took me and a buddy like an hour tops and the difference fom stock is like night and day.no amp just my JVC 50W x4 head unit pushin em and the bass is crazy.i mostly listen to metal and hiphop and dude i wish id had them all along once i heard the difference in sound quality.anyone who is lookin to upgrade from stock these are the way to go 4sure.

Just put these in a Honda Civic, and can't believe how great they sound. Perfect bass, and highs are nice and crisp. Didn't use an amp, just connected to the deck, and they're plenty loud. Would definitely buy again.

Thanks to Crutchfield and their "do-it-yourself" instructions - I was able to
install these rear deck speakers in less than an hour. Great sounding
speakers hooked up with a new JVC radio - Now I can't wait to get into my
car and enjoy the new audio system. Thanks for your help. I definitely would
order again or recommend someone to order through Crutchfield. They got
their game down!

Just put these in my 1998 intrigue and they vastly increased the sound quality
and the amplitude of the music in my car. Don't even think about buying any
other 6x9 speaker these are amazing. I don't have any amp hooked up to
them, super easy to install without an amp just use the included connector and
they are in. Even without an amp these speakers are loud and i'm sure with an
amp they would dominate all.

just installed these in my 03 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, the 6x9 alpine spr's
was a great choice for my install. i had to use the spacer brackets that
came with the kit, the factory holes were too rounded off for the speaker to
fit flush. plenty of room behind the door panel for these great speakers. i
have them hooked up to a Alpine HU and i'm able to turn them up way past
20 before any distortion kicks in. i also purchased the Alpine component
speakers for the rear doors.with these speakers and a MTX Thunderlink
Sub mounted on the trans hump my system has fantastic sound clarity and
low end thump. thanks crutchfield and a special thanks to Ozzy tech
specialist for helping me...

Great improvement on the stock speakers, easy to fit

These were very quick and easy to fit, Crutchfield sent just the right connector for my 2006 Honda Accord EX V6 MT, and they were exactly the right dimensions: no mount needed. Sound much improved over the rather sad stock 6x9s: tighter less boomy bass and some high end too for the folks in the back of the car.
