Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Almost a 5 star perfect fit. The Montero Sport harness adapter for the speaker fit perfect with the speaker wiring harness. Had to mdify the ends of the wiring harness connector to the speaker (Kenwood KFC-1664S) 1 side positive that has a small connector and the negative connector has a big one.Had to reverse the connectors on the wire,

Came free with speaker purchase but could not use. The harness does not match up for the front speakers of a 2000 Subaru Forester. Stock harness has a tab that goes through a slot and the free harness from Crutchfield accepts a tab that would go over the top instead. Would have been happy to use them if they matched up. No biggie, nothing a little splicing and soldering can't take care of.

Installing new speakers into a 2002 Sienna mini van with stock JBL sound system. The connections to the speakers weren't as solid as I would have liked (could have been the speakers' problem). The connection to the existing harness was also a bit weak. The plastic housing of the stock wires did not match up well with the Crutchfiled harness. I probably should have added electrical tape to guard against these vibrating apart over time.

this harness did not clip into the existing one on my 2003 Toyota Sienna (stock JBL system). I took the old harness and soldered the speaker wires to it and it worked fine. The speakers I got from Crutchfield are great; the installation went fine with help from the MasterSheet; just not with this harness.

1999 Subaru Outback Wagon

I got these free with my Kenwood speaker purchase so any issues are of little concern. I would like to point out two things though. On my Subie, the front speakers would of required modification to use. My harness plug had a tab that was to lock the speaker harness in place. The Crutchfield plud did not, and it would of worked loose. The good news is that my stock speakers had EXACTLY the same harness and it was a plug and play into the new Kenwood speakers. (Even the metal tab to hold the harness to the speaker case. Also to note, on my car... the front speakers were a dead perfect swap, hardware and all. However, the rears (on the wagon) were not even close to the same plug. On this, I was able to use the provided harness, but only to cut them in half and use some of my left over wire connectors. I had to cut the factory harness off and splice the spade ends onto the speaker. Although, this was made super easy with having just enough left over connectors that I bought from Crutchfield for the radio. (HIGHLY recommended)
Pros:
I mean... come on, they are FREE! At least they TRY to make it as easy as pie!
Cons:
I know that car makers themselves change plugs throughout the years on the same car, so knowing EVERY plug just will not happen. On my Subaru, the plugs "could of" worked if the factory ones were not the best choice, but the rears were not even close. (although, a sedan may of been the same) Although.... the Outback Wagon is by far the most common Subaru on the market.

Required modification to fit 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi

I'm giving this review three stars as I was able to make these fit and not have to cut the factory wiring harness on my Subaru. The connector on the end of this harness was missing a hole for the tab in my factory connector to fit into. I was able to take a dremel and an xacto knife and make it work but took quite a bit of work and does not disconnect easily.
Pros:
-Free with my new speakers. -Didn't have to cut the end off my factory speaker harness
Cons:
-Out of the box did not fit my Subaru without heavy modification. -Had to cut a whole in the plastic so the tab on the factory harness would fit.

These look relatively well made and have decent gauge wire. However, the T-clips will not work with some factory Subaru wiring harnesses because the plastic locking clip that holds them in place on the factory harness is significantly thicker and thus it is impossible to plug this harness in unless you modify the factory plug. Unfortunately, I ended up cutting and reusing the factory speaker harness.

This was probably one of those cars that had connectors that were not quite a perfect fit. Broke off the locking tabs on the car connectors to get these to seat all the way. Then used a cable tie around both to ensure they stay together.

Rear Speakers 240SX

The wiring harness has the correct terminal orientation and the overall shape, but there is a plastic clip on the side of the 240SX plug that protrudes out. You can't insert the entire plug into the harness, but deep enough to make a good connection point. I ended up using electrical tape to secure the two ends together so it doesn't come apart from vibrations.
