    Features

Overview: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter can be used to connect a 2012 Yamaha network A/V receiver to your wireless home network. The YWA-10 connects to the Ethernet (RJ-45) port on the back of the Yamaha network A/V receiver and communicates directly with your wireless router. It's powered by the rear-panel DC Out/USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) of the receiver, so there is no need to take up an additional electrical outlet. The YWA-10 even has a second Ethernet (RJ-45) output that can be used to provide network access to another device such as a Smart TV or Blu-ray player.

Yamaha Receiver Compatibility: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is compatible with 2012 Yamaha network A/V receivers that feature a rear-panel Ethernet (RJ-45) port and rear-panel DC Out/USB type-A port (5V/0.5A). Current compatible Yamaha A/V receivers include (as of 7/3/2012):

    • RX-V Series: 673, 773 (already included with the RX-V773)
    • RX-A (Aventage) Series: 720, 820, 1020, 2020, 3020

Note: The Yamaha YWA-10 can also be used with other network components that feature a rear-panel Ethernet (RJ-45 port), but will require a USB-to-AC power adapter (sold separately).

WiFi Connectivity: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g/n compatible over a 2.4GHZ frequency and supports WPS (WiFi Protected Setup).

Dual LAN Ports: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is equipped with two Ethernet (RJ-45) ports. One is used to connect your compatible 2012 Yamaha network A/V receiver, while the other can be connected to a second network source; such as a Smart TV or Blu-ray player.

USB Powered: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is powered by the rear-panel USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) of your 2012 Yamaha network A/V receiver; so no additional electrical outlet is needed. Power is supplied to the YWA-10 when the connected Yamaha receiver is powered "On".  The YWA-10 can be powered even if the Receiver is powered 'Off", when the receiver is set to "Network Standby" mode.

Note: Do not connect the included USB power cable to a USB hub.

    Didn't work

Written By VernonL, Oakland, CA on Friday, May 17, 2013

This wireless receiver did not work at all even after spending hours on the phone with techs at Crutchfield. Even through this is the proper wireless Wi-Fi device per Yamaha I was never able to access the internet via the YWA-10 for net stations. Additionally, the adaptor requires you to plug it in to the usb port on the front of a Yamaha RX-V573 AV receiver and that looks terrible and uses the only usb port on the unit, poor design.

    None
    Cons:
    It doesn't work

    Wifi

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Set up with secure wireless network took about 5 min. Using with Yamaha A720 AirPlay working so far with no drops. Using iPhone and iPad to control system is easy. The YWA-10 is an excellent choice if you do not wish to run a cat5 cable from your computer or in our case have not decided on a permanent location to install in wall cat5 connection.. Crutchfield had product to me in 2 days.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Never could get it to work. I spent 4 hours working on it with Tech support. It is just too complicated. Ended up spending less than the cost of the unit to just run a CAT 5 wire to the A/V unit. Don't waste your time or money.

    Too complicated
