We purchased this TV cabinet sight unseen, so we were uncertain as to its quality until we opened the box. The product is as good as advertised. It is sturdy, has a good finish, and looks very nice in our traditional family room. We also were very satisfied with the manner in which Crutchfield handled our order. The customer service was excellent and the cabinet arrived right on schedule. Our new 55 inch flat screen TV is about an inch longer on each side than the cabinet, but the scale is pleasing. The lower height of the cabinet puts the large screen at a comfortable eye level. Pros: Quality of the wood, good instruction booklet, all parts present and well labeled, finished appearance looks like furniture, hides the cords well. Well-packaged to prevent damage in transit. Cons: Challenge to hang the doors, even with the adjustable hinges - perhaps more directions in the booklet. Using a remote through the glass/wood doors may require raising the components off the lower shelf an inch or so to permit a signal. I used a Milwaukee battery drill with a phillips-head bit; if you have such a tool only use it if it allows for torque adjustment, the cam-locks need only be turned 90-120 degrees. I used a low-level of torque for the cambolts and a higher level of torque for the camlocks that are preassembled into the wood pieces. I HIGHLY recommend downloading the owner's manual and reviewing how the cam bolts and locks function and how the pieces go together. I recommend a small hand phillips-head driver for the little screws that attach the rear trim panel, they require very little torque. It took me about 90 minutes to assemble without any distractions. Again, the most important things are 1) plenty of room to spread out the parts (use the foam sheeting supplied to protect the pieces until ready to assemble), 2) do not take any of the hardware out of the bags until ready to use, 3) read each step at least twice to be sure you understand the orientation of the parts (the position of the cambolts, notches in wood pieces) and 4) reserve at least 2 hours of undistracted time. The result will be a cabinet that looks more expensive than it actually cost. Pros: Heavy-duty design, easy to adjust doors. All parts aligned very well. Cons: Nothing major. The TV Cabinet was delivered as promised by motor carrier. It is heavy. As advertised it arrived in kit form; requiring about an hour to assemble with simple tools. The directions were complete. The stand is very well engineered with the components fitting together easily without the need for a "persuader". It uses cam-lock construction for the various sides, end, and shelves. The hardware is very unique, so there is no problem trying to figure out what goes where. The finish on the unit is a satin finish chestnut wood, not a plastic laminate. I consider it a good value.
