Video: Bose® Virtually Invisible® 191 In-wall Speakers
In this short video, Ralph and Chris discuss the top features of Bose's 191 speakers. They install in your wall or ceiling, and include a built-in enclosure.
Chris: Hi, I'm Chris.
Ralph: And I'm Ralph. And we're here today in the Crutchfield studio to talk about the Bose® 191 in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.
Chris: These are a great choice to add background music all throughout your house, because they save space. I could totally see them in my house where it's smaller, and I don't want big, bulky speakers everywhere.
Ralph: That's true.
Chris: They mount flush against your wall or against your ceiling, so you can hardly see them.
Ralph: Yes, and Bose® provides both rectangular wall grilles and circular ceiling grilles, so you have a choice of mounting the same speaker either in a wall or in a ceiling. And of course, they're paintable.
Chris: Bose® designed these with angled drivers so that the sound is dispersed more evenly throughout your room. It doesn't just hit that one direct spot.
Ralph: Now, whenever you cut into a wall, usually there's a surprise.
Chris: You can get insulation, or there can be nothing. There can be a huge space, or small. And it can even be that way in the same room from wall to wall. You can have an outside wall different from an inside wall, which makes the sound different, speaker to speaker.
Ralph: Correct, because some in-wall speakers use that space as the speaker cabinet. So, two identical speakers could have a slightly different sound, even within the same room. Now Bose® solves that problem by building their speakers onto their own enclosures. So whether there's any insulation back here or not, or this is a particularly big area or small...
Chris: Right, the sound's consistent.
Ralph: Yes it is.
Chris: These are a great solution for a kitchen, a dining room, or a bedroom — anywhere you don't have a lot of space but you want to spread your music throughout your house.
Ralph: But you don't want speakers standing around on the floor.
