These brackets allow you to install select 5-1/4" or 6-1/2" speakers in your factory speaker openings. These multi-purpose brackets fit right into most vehicles, but you may have to make slight modifications in some vehicles, like trimming plastic or drilling new screw holes.

Important Note: Some 6-1/2" speakers use a larger frame and require a larger cutout. We call these 6-3/4" speakers, and they won't fit in this bracket. This bracket will only work with speakers that require a cutout diameter of 5-1/8" or less.

  • Priced per pair

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so, then check here for a list of parts. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Speaker Mounting Brackets

Written By DaveR, CT on Monday, June 10, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Did not fit my car, a Mercedes C230, or the speakers, Polk DB651. I would have had to use the speaker adapters to these adapter and do a little more to get them to work, I wound up not using these and fitting the speakers a different way
Pros:
Freebie, included with the order
Cons:
Did not fit my car

Speaker Mounting Brackets

Written By Andre, Oregon on Thursday, June 06, 2013
Installed in a 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It did not fit my 07 sti. I had to use a dremel and cut off two tabs and drill new holes. After modify the adapter it worked great. It had the right amount of thickness so the woofer was out of door to clear the window. The others i found were just a flat metal plate which would not have worked because it would have interferred with the window.
Pros:
Soild plastic piece. Right amount of thickness to make it stick out and away from the door.
Cons:
Had to modify to get it to fit.

Not a 6.5" speaker bracket

Written By Anonymous, Seattle, WA on Monday, April 15, 2013
Installed in a 2004 Toyota 4Runner
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The overall mounting diameter was too small for some Alpine 6.5" coaxial speakers. Otherwise, these seem like they would work well. These speakers fit well in other rings from the same company that call for 6.5" speakers.
Pros:
Price
Cons:
Improper mounting for a reasonably standard 6.5" speaker.

Not for 6 1/2 in speakers

Written By dnardi, Mass on Monday, April 08, 2013
Installed in a 2010 Toyota Tundra
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these to mount Infinity Kappa 62.9i speaker in the rear door of a Tundra. The bracket fits the truck door properly, but they do not hold a 6 1/2" speaker by default - they are too small. In order to mount a 6 1/2" speaker you need another bracket that mounts to a the speaker to a 5 1/4" hole and then has a flange to mount the 6 1/2" speaker to it.

Luckily the Infinity speakers came with such an adapter. Though using the second adapter with these makes the speaker mount farther out of the door by 1/4"causing the tweeter to contact the door grill. I had to grind down the honeycomb plastic on the back of the door pannel grill to make room.
Pros:
mounts to door properly and securly solid mount and well made
Cons:
doesn't fit 6 1/2" speakers by default.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Size and hole location were just right but the sheet metal screws supplied with the adapters would have eventually rubbed the electrical harness for the window and door locks creating a problem down the road.
Pros:
Good fit and hole location
Cons:
Additional fasteners had to be purchased to avoid future electrical problems.

In long run, works great.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The brackets worked well however the included clips did not fit the holes of the car with out drilling. A trip to the hardware store solved the problem but not ideal. I think it will work for the lifetime of the car though. A bit janky, though. I wouldn't not buy it though.

Fit 2006 Scion XB, wrong mounting hardware supplied

Written By ClintS, Fort Worth, TX on Monday, July 16, 2012
Installed in a 2006 Scion xB
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Holes on the adapter bracket line up with factory mounting holes in door. However, supplied hardware (screws & clips) does not work due to inset of those holes. Also, no clear instructions on where to drill screws attaching speakers to bracket. I used my own rivet gun to make them work.
Pros:
speakers fit in factory location
Cons:
unclear instructions and fastening hardware does not work for application on specified make and model

Did not fit in wife's 2005 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport - not even close to lining up. I ended up using factory brackets and cutting out the 'guts' of those.

Looks nice

Did not fit

Did not fix 06 Subaru Impreza WRX STi

Written By Andrew K, Annapolis,MD on Thursday, June 28, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

None of the mounting holes to the door lined up even remotely close. The best trick I figured out was to cut an outline of one of the speaker adapters out of the cardboard from a pizza box. Punch holes in the cardboard exactly where the existing holes are first. Then tape the template onto the door so the holes already in the door line up to uncut areas of the cardboard, then use a knife to punch holes in the cardboard where the right mounting holes need to be drilled. Then actually screw the cardboard template to the door to make sure all the holes fit. After a good fit then I taped the template to the plastic speaker adapter and used a drill to drill the new mounting holes. Once this was done the plastic speaker adapters worked fine. With all that work I question why it would be easier to use these plastic things over just cutting some rings out of MDF in the first place. I'm sure these things probably fit other cars right out of the box, or they expect you to just drill holes in your door. The later I wasn't willing to do.
Pros:
Adapters came for free with my new Kicker speakers.
Cons:
-None of the mounting tabs or pre-drilled holes lined up at all with the factory mounting holes in my door. -As much fabrication necessarily as to just make your own speaker brackets out of MDF.

Sufficient

Written By Alex C, Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, May 29, 2012
Installed in a 2007 Toyota Corolla
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Some installation feedback: The adapter brackets came with sheet-metal screws and "fast clips." I was unable to use the clips in the fashion for which they are designed because the mounting holes are too far from the speaker hole (about 1 to 1.5 inches away, and the clip is only 1/2 inch total width). My solution was to duct tape the clips on the back side of the screw holes for the 2 holes I was reusing. For the one hole I had to drill, I could match the drill bit to the screw.

Also, the sheet metal screws for the bracket required a washer for at least one of the holes, since the screw head easily slips through. These should be included in the bracket hardware.
Pros:
They work and the material seems substantial
Cons:
Hardware is lacking or requires improvisation.
