Features
Overview: The NHT SuperPower is a powerful self-amplified,
mini-speaker. The compact powered speaker features a 2-way speaker design and has
it's own internal, 90-watt amplifier. The NHT SuperPower can be connected
directly to computers, smartphones, tablets, Apple devices (iPod/iPhone/iPad),
video game consoles, and TV's; or practically any audio source which features an
headphone or audio output.
90-Watt Class D Amplifier: The NHT SuperPower employs a built-in
90-watt Class D amplifier. This 90-watt digital amplifier is extremely
energy efficient, converting over 90% of the incoming electricity to pure,
low-distortion output power.
Two-Way Speaker Design: The SuperPower uses a two-way speaker design
with a 4.5" treated-paper cone woofer and 1" silk dome, ferro-fluid cooled
tweeter mounted in a compact sealed enclosure for lifelike vocals and excellent imaging.
Acoustic Suspension Enclosure: The sealed, or "acoustic
suspension" designed enclosure is very important to the SuperPower's
performance. In an acoustic suspension design, the air trapped inside the
enclosure acts as a spring to control the woofer cone's motion which helps keep
distortion low and allows the small SuperPower to produce the sort of deep bass
and dynamics usually associated with much larger speakers. The speaker enclosure
is internally braced for added rigidity.
Optional Desktop Stand: NHT's optional Desktop Stand (228DSKSTND,
sold separately) will open up the midrange vocals and make the soundfield larger
and more realistic.
Controls
Power Switch: The NHT SuperPower features only one control. There is a
power switch located on the back of the speaker which turns the powered speaker
On/Off.
Add-On Passive Volume Control: The NHT passive volume control (228PVCPC,
sold separately) will make things sound better and puts a knob handy for volume
control.
Connections
Analog RCA Output: The NHT SuperPower speaker is fitted with a single
RCA line-level input to connect your external audio source that features a
headphone or audio output. A 39" stereo minijack to stereo RCA cable is
provided.
Detachable AC Power Cord: The NHT SuperPower operates off of standard
household AC current (100-120V; 60Hz/1.2A) using the supplied 6' detachable AC
power cord.
Super 8 Subwoofer (sold separately): The NHT Super 8 subwoofer (228SUPER8,
sold separately) can be added to the SuperPower speaker system to fill a bigger
space or to add bigger bass and dynamics. The SuperPower does not feature a
subwoofer output; your add-on subwoofer will need to connect to either the NHT
passive volume control (sold separately) or your audio source.
