Pro.Fit's UL-242MINI package contains the UltiMount V2 universal mount with the miniGrip device holder — everything you need to mount a small electronic device in your vehicle.

You can place the UltiMount V2 universal mount nearly anywhere in your vehicle, and its strong 3M adhesive backing will keep it in place. You can remove the backing later without damaging your vehicle's interior. Use the pivoting head and swiveling arm to adjust the UltiMount V2 to virtually any position. The UltiMount V2 works with all of Pro.Fit's extensive line of device-specific holders, including the miniGrip.

The miniGrip holder features an adjustable sliding clamp that's designed to secure an iPod® mini, a cell phone, or other smaller portable devices. The clamps can grip your device either horizontally or vertically, depending on where your device's inputs and outputs are located. The adjustable supports on the bottom of the mount accommodate several types of device power plugs. Lifetime warranty.

Features

Mounting Location/Compatibility: The Pro.Fit miniGrip with UltiMountV2 is designed to mount in any of several orientations and locations in any vehicle or boat. The miniGrip can be used to mount your satellite radio tuner/controller or portable MP3 player, as well as other items such as cellphones, PDAs, remote controls, etc.

Mounting Options: The UltiMountV2 can provide multiple mounting options. Since the UltiMountV2 attaches with an adhesive pad, no drilling is necessary. If desired, the round adhesive FlexPad can be removed and placed on the opposite side of the extension arm. The UltiMount has a ball-and-socket adjustment that gives you great flexibility in positioning your device. Once positioned, you can lock the UltiMount to hold it in place.

Flex-Pad: The UltiMountV2 adheres to the mounting surface with the Flex Pad featuring a strong 3M adhesive. The mounting surface will need to be prepared prior to mounting the Flex Pad. The supplied Surface Preparation Cleaning kit and Alcohol Prep pad will remove dirt, oils, and silicone-based emulsions (such as Armor-All) from the mounting surface to assure a secure installation. To allow you to move the UltiMountV2 to another vehicle, you can purchase additional Flex Pads (item # 042747FP10).

miniGrip: The miniGrip can be adjusted for devices from 1-3/4" to 2-1/2" in width, up to 3/4" deep, and 4-1/2" tall. The wings can be squeezed together to firmly hold your device in place. The quick-release button springs the wings out wide to remove the device. The feet at the bottom of the miniGrip can be adjusted to allow for wiring to the device. Note: The miniGrip will easily work with iPod nano (all generations), as well as full-sized iPods, such as the iPod classic and iPod touch.

Great item. Well thought out and engineered. Some cars (like mine) do not offer a lot of space to install it and have it within easy reach, so... why is the angled arm unable to flip around? Oh, and after 3 days it fell off (came unglued...)

I hate making holes in my car - this holder allowed me to mount my iPhone in a great
spot next to my radio. I was able to mount the adhesive pad in the opening to the left of
the head unit. This leaves my iPhone nearly flush with the dash and easy to view and
access. Installing it was straightforward and took about 15 minutes. As a side note the
combination of this holder along with the USA Spec PA11-VOL was a great way of
bringing a good factory stereo system up to speed without a full replacement.

I've had the mount installed for over six months with no issues of it loosening up or the
adhesive failing... Life is good so far.

This thing is the best

This is by far the best vehicle mount I've found. I'm using it for a droid incredible and it
fits perfectly. I got one from best buy that would bounce around like crazy and finally the
plastic just snapped off. Thing this is made out of very sturdy plastic and looks like it is
built to last. I have no problem using the touch screen while it is in the cradle because it
holds it so nicely. The only complaint I have about it is that you have to lock it into
position on the positioning ball thing, which means you can't just adjust it's position on
the fly while driving, for example, you can't just switch it to horizontal mode on the fly
while driving if you are looking at map or something (probably shouldn't be doing this
anyway). This is a minor issue though. You can change the position very easily if you
have two hands free.

Overall this thing is solid product, just buy it and get back to work ya slacka!

I looked all over the internet for a good way to mount my MP3 player in a Honda Accord. Lots of cheap stuff out there, but finally found the ProFit mounts at Crutchfield. This works great and looks good too. What's not readily apparent from the product description is that you can change the bracket which angles about 30 degrees away from the circular adhesive pad to angle the opposite direction (30 degrees in) if that suits your needs. Also, the 2 feet at the bottom slide left or right to accommodate cables. In fact, they can slide right off and go on the opposite end (top) of the bracket (you can see the grooves for them in the picture). This is handy because the side clamps are closer to one end than the other. Moving the feet to the opposite end, and rotating the unit 180 degrees allowed be to keep the side volume control on my Sony Walkman MP3 player from being covered by the side brackets. The release button which allows the side brackets to retract outward works well too. Great product.

I use this for a iPod Nano (4th generation I think) and it works great. Easy to install and it holds the iPod securely, even though the narrow Nano and the need to access the USB input means only one of the fingers on the bottom is really useable. Since I use a USB cable to connect my iPod to my stereo, I'm not sure how it would work if you needed to connect to both the power and headphone jacks, but the cushioned jaws are pretty secure. I have ordered another mounting pad so I can switch this between two vehicles.
