Yamaha's NS-AW390s let you enjoy natural-sounding music on your deck or patio. These speakers are designed to withstand the elements and deliver rich, realistic sound outdoors. A 1" tweeter reproduces the high frequencies, while a 6-1/2" woofer takes care of low frequencies down to an impressively deep 55 Hz. Yamaha includes fully adjustable mounting brackets, so you can aim the 'AW390s toward your picnic table or favorite lawn chair.

    All-Weather Speaker: The NS-AW390 speakers have water-resistant enclosures that protect the speaker from the elements when mounted outdoors. The Yamaha NS-AW390 Outdoor Speakers house a single woofer and tweeter inside the all-weather acoustic suspension enclosure. The NS-AW390 also features weatherproof spring speaker terminals and non-removable aluminum speaker grilles.

    Woofer: The Yamaha NS-AW390 All-Weather Speakers use a 6-ohm 6.5" high compliance polypropylene mica filled woofer with a rubber surround for durability and sound quality.

    1" PEI Dome Tweeter: The NS-AW390 All-Weather Speakers feature a 1.0" PEI dome tweeter for excellent high frequency response.

    Wide Dispersion: These speakers are designed with a wide dispersion pattern which means you will get good sound quality over a large listening area up to 400 square feet. It is recommended to place the speaker between 6 feet and 10 feet apart.

    Mounting Options

    Mounting: The Yamaha NS-AW390 speakers come with mounting brackets which allow you to mount the speakers to your outdoor wall, in corners or under eves of your home to minimize the speakers' exposure to rain or snow. Using the supplied mounting brackets, the NS-AW390 can be mounted vertically or horizontally. When the speaker is mounted horizontally, the speaker can be rotated left or right; when the speaker is mounted vertically, the speaker can be angled up or down. The mounting bracket can also be used to place the speaker on a shelf or table in a horizontal or vertical position. The NS-AW390 speakers also feature a single 1/4" threaded insert for attaching an optional wall-mount bracket, sold separately.

    Only up for a few weeks but the speakers have weathered some rain already and they sound great on my deck. I don't have eaves to protect them, so I'll be testing their ability to handle this fine northeast climate.

    I got 4 of these speakers for my shop/garage it is 42 feet x 30 feet hooked them to a Onkio stereo receiver. They fill it with good sound with plenty of volume to spare. These speaker have great highs and good miss but little to no bass a sub is needed in my opinion.

    Compact easy to mount and hook up. Great highs and mids
    Cons:
    No bass

    Great speakers for the money! I make this comparison to an existing pair of outdoor Bose speakers on our deck. Added these to the open space stone patio.

    Cons:
    Speaker connector a little difficult to connect wire while mounting. Minor inconvenience.

    An exelent product for the money. I woul not hesitate to purchase another set if i needed to. I use them in my swimming pool enclosure. Great sound at a bit of volume. OK on the low volume, but crank them up and you will awake your neighbors out of bed. Crystl clear. Tops for the $$$$

    I was looking for a cost effective solution for speakers in my 3 car garage. I thought about in-ceiling speakers, but didn't want to live with the holes in my ceiling in case I rearrange things down the road, so I went with outdoor speakers. The install is simple as can be, love the safety wire to hold them to the mount bracket while you hook up the speaker wire. Look GREAT and sound better every day with a break in period. I mounted them 12' apart and that seemed to give a good garage filling sound.. I never thought my old Kenwood home system (25 years old) could sound so good from such a compact speaker. The neighbor guy is green with envy. And at the end of the day, isn't that the point?

    This is a cost effective solution to putting sound outside. In this case, I ran a whole bunch of (in wall) speaker wire to get the signal to the speakers. Running off of the Sony base receiver: sounds clear and the design is rugged enough to withstand the weather conditions present - installed just below our soffit to protect from rain/snow, etc.

    I bought these speakers for outdoor use, but the sound is so thin and tinny that they are unacceptable, to me, in this application. I ended up taking the much more robust and bass-rich 6.5", $200 speakers that I had in my shower and putting them outside, and putting the Yamahas in the shower. Since the shower is a tiled, almost cubical, boomy space, the Yamahas' thin, almost bass-less sound works well in there.

    These speakers are awesome! I really don't think you will find better sound for the money. I have friends that have spent twice as much on out door speakers that do not sound as good. Great bang for your buck.

    Greg assisted me with finding a fantastic set of speakers for my deck that fit my budget perfectly. We just installed these and they are going to be great to add some music to our barbecues These have a surprisingly decent amount of bass, of course, nothing sounds as good as it does in your house, and our normal unit is 700 series bose free standing speakers with a huge subwoofer as well, but that is not this function. I wanted invest a small amount of money in speakers that would in essence be rained on outside on the deck, but I did want to try and find ones that didn't sound tin cannish and mediocre, these puppies did the trick, VERY pleased.
