A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Separate crossovers are far superior to the simple filters wired into full-range speakers, so the components work together for smoother, more focused sound.

Precision Series P236P 6-3/4

High-quality parts and construction

The Precision P236P component speaker system includes two 6-3/4" woofers, two 1" tweeters, and a pair of outboard crossover networks. Helix creates the woofer cone from Agave sisalana, a natural fiber that's incredibly stiff, then impregnates each cone with aluminum and coats it with a layer of silk. A durable rubber surround and sturdy stamped-steel basket complete a driver that's ready to provide powerful midrange- and low-frequency reproduction.

The large 1" silk dome tweeter broadcasts all the high-frequency details in your music, while a robust external crossover network provides seamless separation of the highs and lows for superior realism. You can adjust tweeter levels on the crossover to +/- 3dB based on your listening preference. This speaker system will handle up to 60 watts RMS, so an external amplifier is recommended for best results.

Note: Helix describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

Woofer

Woofer: The P 236 component system includes woofers made of sisal fiber with durable rubber surrounds. The mechanical advantages of sisal, rigidity and inner damping, result in faster transients and precise detail.

Magnet cover: The woofers are shipped with a rubber magnet cover to protect the speaker. If the cover is removed the depth changes slightly:

Top Mount Depth: 2.483"
Bottom Mount Depth: 2.629"

Size Classification Note: Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this woofer size as a 6-3/4", while some manufacturers, including Helix (Audiotec Fischer), call it a 6-1/2". Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.

Tweeter

Tweeter: The system uses 1" silk dome tweeters with neodymium motor structures. The tweeters can be flush mounted or surface mounted at an angle using the included brackets. Like the woofers, the tweeters have male quick slide terminals. The positive terminal is 0.187" wide and the negative terminal is 0.110" wide. Neither speaker wire nor crimp-on terminals are included with the speakers.

Crossover

Crossover: The crossovers are separate components with tweeter protection built-in. The inputs and outputs are screw terminals and will accommodate bare wire or spade connectors up to 0.3" wide. A jumper allows you to adjust the tweeter output level; choose +3dB, 0dB, or -3dB. A second jumper changes the woofers' expected impedance from 4-ohms to 2-ohms, used when a second pair of woofers is added. No crossover frequency or slope information was provided by the manufacturer.
