The SubStage SF150C09 fits the 2009-12 Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab, and the subwoofer installs under the passenger's side of the rear seat. This kit will not install in 2009-10 models with the Sony factory audio system. It connects to the factory stereo via two wire taps for signal, and attaches to the battery for power. Features

Overview: Kicker's SoundGate SubStage factory audio upgrade kits are designed to fit in specific year/make/model vehicles. The SF150S09 is compatible with select 2009 and later Ford Supercrew pickups (please confirm fit with the Crutchfield vehicle selector). Included with the system are a 10" subwoofer in a custom enclosure, subwoofer amp, and all the necessary cables to power the amplifier and connect to the factory radio.

Subwoofer: The custom enclosure is loaded with a single 10" Kicker subwoofer, powered by a 200-watt amplifier mounted to the enclosure. The power cable is connected to the fuse box in the engine compartment. Specific wire routing instructions are included for the power cable and for tapping into the factory wiring for the subwoofer's signal input. All necessary mounting hardware is also included.

Electrical System: The amplifier is designed to have minimum impact on the truck's charging system.

Dimensions: The listed dimensions do not include the mounting brackets (regardless of these measurements, the subwoofer enclosure is custom built to fit under the back seat):

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received this kicker subwoofer package about two weeks ago and I was excited. I'm no sound installer guru but I was able to install this kicker subwoofer durning my lunch hour at work. When I say it's a upgrade, it's an upgrade to the factory sub that came with my 2012 f150 fx2. Inside of the truck it sounds good and it hits pretty hard! Now with that said, it's only a 10, so the bass doesn't hit as hard outside of the truck. If your sitting in traffic, the cars to the left, right, front and rear will hear it but that's pretty much it. So, if you want a sub that you can hear down the street, this sub is not your best option. Still, I love it cause it hidden and it sounds good.

Pros:

Hidden like factory sub, takes same amount of space as factory sub, hits hard for 10in sub

Cons:

Doesn't come in a 12in sub

Cut the floor mat.

Update on my previous review.

I bought two weathertech rear floor mats and cut the floor mat around the Substage subwoofer. Took me five minutes and it's a perfect fit. The subwoofer now has plenty of room to fire that bass. Also anybody can sit in that seat and I won't be worried that they're pushing down on the sub box.

I'm very satisfied with my purchase form Crutchfield!

Pros:

Hits Hard for a single 10 You don't loose any space under the rear seat. No cutting or drilling for install.

Cons:

Get your self another set of floor mats to cut up so the sub woofer doesn't touch the factory floor mats.

Installed in a 2011 Ford F-150 Lariat

I was hesitant to purchase this item at first as I could not find a review on it, or see any installation pictures. But All said and done this thing hits hard. I have a 2011 F150 Limited with the factory Sony navigation and I hated the stereo in it, especially the sub woofer, The louder I turned the volume up the quieter the sub got. I was told the sony nav has an equalizer in it that senses bass levels and controls it. With this Soundgate Substage sub not anymore, the more I turn it up the louder it gets. I could not be happier with my purchase. I have my bass setting at zero and it hits plenty.

When I was first looking around at vehicle specific sub woofers the only thing I could find was the JL Audio stealth box. What they don't tell you about it is you have to move your spare tire jack and tools located under the rear seat. And of course you have to run a amp to it, so there goes all your space under the rear seats. The soundgate substage I didn't loose any space. I had my local stereo shop install it for me $125.00.

The only issue I have with soundgate substage is it's 6" wider, and about an 1" taller so what happens is the box pushes down on the factory floor mat so much I have to unscrew the box and lift it up just to pull the floor mat out, and I'm worried if someone sits in that seat they'll be pushin the sub woofer down to the floor causing it to slap the woofer. The solution here would be to cut the floor mat around the sub.

Pros:

Cons:

Cheap Plastic Box. Taller than the factory sub woofer box you may need to take out your floor mat in the rear, or don't let anyone sit in that seat.
